Continue this trail from Aiea loop to head to the summit. Took about 10 miles front and back to complete the trail but for me I just continue on to explore koolau summit to see stairway to hell (not recommend since it’s a sketchy hike to get there and next to the cliff). Only an experienced or endurance kind of hiker could explore that but no regards did a total of 16 miles round from Aiea loop entrance to Moanoalua valley park which was a journey kind of hike with no water. Have to bring a lot of water to do Aiea summit trail and back and bug repellent for the mosquitos.

Good hike in a very residential area. Stopped coming here for a few years since I heard that it was overrun with tourists, but it turned out to not be the case. There were a lot of people and we only got lucky to pull in just as someone was leaving the parking lot. I'd recommend either going early or around 10 (as the first wave of people leave). Seeing people every 5-10 min was a bit too much, but the trail is well maintained and the view of the H-3 is as good as always. Not too muddy, and cool with the tree cover.

A more overgrown way up to the KST. Very muddy and slippery after rain. Fantastic views around the island when clouds cooperate. Bring gloves and wear pants to guard against the native ferns.

A wonderful hike that will take you through a variety of different microclimates and show you tons of beautiful plants. The views at the top are fantastic and the path is well kept, but can be a bit slippery and muddy. There is enough turnover where you will get a parking spot if you wait a few minutes.

A moderate 4.some miles hike, easy enough to take a dog along. Path has a lot of roots in most sections so be mindful of footing. Make sure to wear decent shoes especially if hiking after some rainfall and be prepared to get muddy. The view overlooking the H3 is amazing. Definitely a hike everyone should do while on Oahu.

Beautiful hike! Since it's a loop, you can do it two directions and each way feels like a different hike. The scenery is amazing and most of the trail is covered, so no need to worry about sunburn or rain. Its pet friendly too!

Moderate to hard hike. Didn't finish all the way to the end of ridge due to rain and mud. The beauty over looking the H3 was breathtaking & majestic. Long pants, hiking shoes, snacks and water are a must. The loop took us over 3 hours. Leave only footprints take only memories!
