Nice calm harbor, neat shop for some treats or gifts. Some decent views as a bonus. Wind doesn't seem to blow too much...gets really hot but there is a nice water fountain with bottle refill at the public bathrooms right at the dock.

Discovering Lānaʻi & Manele Small Boat Harbor

Our adventure began aboard the Expedition Maui-Lānaʻi ferry, which took us on a scenic 60-minute ride to Lānaʻi, arriving at Manele Small Boat Harbor. The harbor, located on the southern coast of the island, is the perfect gateway for exploring Lānaʻi. Upon arrival, we met our driver, who guided us through a fun day of experiences.

Our first stop was the Lānaʻi Cat Sanctuary, home to over 650 friendly cats. The staff was incredibly welcoming and provided fascinating insights about the island and the sanctuary’s mission. We then made our way to Lānaʻi City, where we enjoyed the charm of the local shops and small-town atmosphere.

After returning to Manele Harbor, we took a leisurely five-minute walk to Hulopo’e Beach, a beautiful stretch of sand just steps away from the harbor. Hulopo’e Beach offers crystal-clear waters perfect for swimming and snorkeling, making it a great spot to unwind after a day of exploring the island.

Whether you’re a first-time visitor or a returning traveler, Manele Small Boat Harbor is a convenient and scenic entry point for discovering all that Lānaʻi has to offer.

So much fun and the captains and hands are super nice. They are also the crew for the fishing tours they provide through the resort. Those guys also make some stiff drinks!

Check the weather prior to travel day.. if you're a 1st timer, pack meclizine.
Also check for high wind warnings or high surf. They affect the ride.
It's a beautiful ride otherwise. And if you're lucky, you may get a glimpse of dolphins, and maybe a whale or two!!

Booked a trip with Trilogy for a day trip to Lanai. They are top notch with the tour with great service and food provided for the trip. They have their own pavilion at the Lanai's harbor for a great bbq cookout before heading back to Maui. They have their own section on the beach for chairs and mats provided and for snorkeling. Check them out!

Small harbor for trilogy tours and expeditions ferry to Maui. You can walk the coast and see some history stuff.

It's cute; it would be great if there were a nice restaurant with water views that were open there. Is there one? Not sure what's on top but it's always "closed for event" so maybe someday I'll find out. Basically only there to grab a ferry.

We took the am Lana'i excursion with sail Trilogy excursions today (from Lahaina). Not only was thr ridr and sailing superb, the staff was all about service, all day. This is truly a world class professional company! They are at your becon call throughout the excursion, see to your every need, and as friendly and knowledgeable as any boat crew I've ever seen. These folks are the absolute best around! Thanks all!
