Love this shop! It's hard to find a great shop for any sport or hobby, but this place is the real deal. I did a lot of shopping online for my first full kiteboarding kit: Kite, bar/lines, harness, safety vest, board, travel bag... Second Wind had the best prices and comes with local service if you need it. Knowledgeable staff, who actually get out and use the equipment along with great prices and no high pressure sales. Now that I'm getting ready to move back to the mainland, they even gave me an option to help out with shipping my equipment.
Used sporting good stores can be hit or miss. Most are just glorified pawn/thrift shops. Second Wind staff actually know more about the local conditions, have a better knowledge base in general and have better service for the sport than the regular shops in town! Second Wind has been a total win for me! Definitely worth your time to drop by. 🙂

Rented gear from Second Wind Maui 2 years in a row, same great service from all staff members! The owner Kevin is a pleasure to deal with and extremely knowledgeable about local wind and wave conditions. He always put my needs first by checking weather forecasts daily and advising which days were the best to rent gear. I rented a surfboard and kiteboarding equipment. The gear was new and in excellent condition. Even better Kevin’s store is less than 5 minutes from the beach, it couldn’t be more convenient if you need to rent additional equipment. Thank you for several magical days on the water Kevin, look forward to renting from you and your team on my next trip to Maui.

On my recent trip to Maui I used Second Wind to rent my Wing Foiling gear for a few days during my one week trip. Kevin & Jay were very informative and provided exactly the right set-up for my skills and despite some iffy winter wind conditions, I enjoyed two great days of foiling during my one week trip. I'm so glad I didn't bother dragging my gear through the airports and I can't wait to get back to Maui!!

Need some truck racks? Don't look anywhere else, Second wind is the place to go, not only was there a in stock large selection to choose from, the I installation is also included. Ian provided accurate and helpful information. Not only did Ian help me select the perfect product, he installed the 1000lb capacity racks effortlessly and timely. Great job and service, highly recommend these guys!

Awesome experience! I went here to get a kayak/board rack for my truck. They had a great selection and were super helpful with helping me choose the right one. They even install it free, but the timing didn't work out as I got there later than needed to get it done same day. Regardless I took it home and installed the next day in less than 30 min by using the tips they provided. Mahalo for your help!

When we dinged part of the Thule roof rack on our rental, this place saved our hides! Excellent prices (cheaper than anywhere online I could find!). The kindest guy let us borrow the tools to switch out our parts, and we couldn’t be more grateful!
