Came to shop skis and got some excellent recommendations! They will price match to other shops online which is so nice!! Andy did our boot fitting and we couldn’t be happier! So patient and explained every step of the process. Be kind to the employees, they aren’t predatory and don’t try to oversell you, they do an excellent job.

We left with 2 new pairs of ski boots, then my husband purchased skis and bindings after Andy matched the price we found online! Turns out they overcharged us by $30 and Carol called several hours later to correct! We hadn’t even noticed!

Ask for Andy - awesome boot fitting & ski purchasing experience. Getting professionally fitted for ski boots will change your life for the better, regardless of your ski ability, and these guys are seasoned pros at making that happen - do it!

Friendly, experienced staff (they get very busy - patience is advised, and will go a long way for you here) and fair prices (they match online, as a general matter). Great way to support a long standing Chicago business and improve your ski experience!

I am more than satisfied with my first visit to Viking Ski Shop.

I had an appointment for a boot-fitting at 3:15pm on January 16th.
During the confirmation phone call I had the day before, I asked to alter the appointment slightly, moving it earlier in the day, and they were happy to oblige.

My boot-fitter was Ray. I feel grateful and blessed for having him assigned to me. He offered helpful, down-to-earth advice and knowledge on boots, bindings, skis and poles. He also has a hearty sense of humor.

Thank you to Ray and to the rest of the Viking Ski Shop team.

The boots I paid to have heat molded to my feet made my toenails fall off every single time I skiied in them. Throughout the fitting process, I was vocal about the boots not feeling comfortable. Was told that they fit correctly, they will fit when I am skiing. Brought them back after ~literally~ my toenails fell off. Was told it's because I don't ski correctly. The staff assumed I was a beginner despite my telling them that I am not. Gave these boots 3 ski seasons and it just kept getting worse, so I wanted to leave a review. I don't like to leave bad reviews but every single interaction I had here was negative, belittling, and freaking expensive. Anyway I just bought myself a used pair of boots from a consignment shop and wouldn't you know, my toenails didn't fall off! Guess it wasn't my form after all!

Went to Viking today for a boot fitting for my first pair of ski boots. Mike was so helpful, knowledgeable and kind. He was patient to made sure the boots fit me perfectly and walked me through key features, etc. So glad I came here, thank you Mike!

I had a disappointing experience at this location. The initial shoe selection process was poorly handled, followed by issues when picking up gear that wasn’t ready on time. Staff openly spoke negatively about one another in front of customers, creating an unprofessional atmosphere. Service quality appears inconsistent, depending on the salesperson assigned. Additionally, there was an attempt to charge me extra (2% of the total cost) for a mistake made by the store, which felt like an effort to pass the cost onto the customer. This place seems focused on squeezing extra charges and may take advantage of less-informed customers.

We bought skis and boots for my son. After a 5 day ski trip, his boots were tight and causing numb feet. We returned to the shop and Andy patiently listened and made adjustments that solved the problem. We are satisfied and will return to Viking for our next purchase.
