Rebel and I drove 200 miles to find geodes. Never found any but had a good time exploring. The bugs were insane but I was armed with heavy big spray. We came across the cemetery in the middle of the woods on the way to the creek. It was pitch black and creepy and exhilarating at the same time

I love this place! It's always beautiful, peaceful and I can't wait to go back. The staff are incredibly nice and helpful everytime we have had questions. I've been to the group camp many times and can not recommend this place enough!

So many trails, so much to see! I was hoping to see some caves, but we, unfortunately, did not see any. Great weekend getaway!

Lake Celine, good sized lake, very clear water. Lots of little coves to explore with canoes and kayaks. Some large sandstone rocks. One of the few places with freshwater jellyfish. They are clear, dime sized and,not poisonous. Electric motors ok. Great place for canoes and kayaks. Haven't had much luck fishing, I hear you need a fish finder.

What an exceptional park! We went in December so there was no charge however be aware that at certain times of the year there is a charge per vehicle. The park is gorgeous with endless trails and sights to see! We climbed the fire station and the view was amazing! So worth the trip!

Went to the Harrison-Crawford State Forest to do the “Adventure Hiking Trail” with my brother-in-law. (Look for Obannon Woods and AHT)
Beautiful park, and a great 25 mile trail. They have several overnight shelters throughout the trail, but you can also tent camp.
*Very rugged trail*
Be advised - the summer and autumn months can be very dry and most of the creek beds are extremely porous so finding water can be a challenge. Many people drop off water in advance along the trail. We did not. I went in with 4 liters thinking I would have enough to get me to the campsite water 18 miles in. It was not. I was conservative with my water usage (which I don’t recommend) and I still wound up hiking 2.5 miles without water. So...plan ahead.

Great place to enjoy nature! This forest has a lot to offer with camping, hiking, horseback riding and more. Check with on of the friendly park rangers when you visit to make sure the area you're going to is open. They will close off sections, including the 20 mile adventure trail, for logging. The forest buts up to the Ohio river so there's great views and water activity as well.
