Noah, the owner of the ranch was super chill. He is extremely skilled and knows so much about his field. His ability to create what he does with the petrified wood is everything you could hope for. Never a disappointment ! He knows his stuff. Great job! Rainbow wood , agate wood , there is all kinds of every color so bright so beautiful

I had to come and share some love for Rhonda!!! My fiancee and I called Rhonda to see if we could dig some petrified wood (always check for local LEGAL digging/rockhounding sites and NEVER remove petrified wood from the State/National Parks!) and she met us at the property off 180 drove us out to the dig site and we were there nearly 3 hours digging! Rhonda is a wealth of knowledge and if you genuinely listen to her and take in all the wisdom she shares you will have a very great day of treasure hunting! Be warned: digging is hard! Wear clothes you’d feel comfortable doing yard work in because you will get covered in dirt! She provides all the shovels, pick axes and other tools you might need to dig and I recommend bringing a small hand/garden shovel for clearing small holes! It’s very strenuous work but so very rewarding, we followed Rhonda’s guidance and found some truly exemplary pieces! She also shared lots of really cool natural history facts and information while we conversed with her, her family has owned/mined the land for nearly 100 years since 1927! Really incredible once-in-a-lifetime experience that we loved and a big warm thank you to Rhonda!!! I will try to remember to post more photos of our haul after we clean them up!

Had an amazing experience here! We drove 3 1/2 hours here because this is the only legal place in Arizona to excavate/purchase genuine Arizona fossilized wood. We were greeted by Ariel, who was super friendly, knowledgeable and professional. She even showed us the best places to dig. I highly recommend this this place to all treasure hunters. Very reasonably priced! I will be back for more pieces soon. Thank you Ariel for being an amazing host and giving us an awesome day!

One of the best rock hounding experience we’ve had. Rhonda was amazing and so helpful, actually the whole family was. I’m from Michigan, so I was a little out of my element. You can dig or just pick through some of the un-earthed specimens. They are so beautiful! Don’t waste your time at the other nearby resellers. You can get better quality and quantity for much less.

If I could give 10 stars I would. Went here to dig for petrified wood, which we found many nice pieces. Rhonda is an absolute great person. She shared how to find petrified wood and what to look for while digging. Highly recommend this place.

My husband and I heard of the Dobell mineral and excavation business from friends who had gone there. Noah was so nice and helpful. He gave us a 5 gallon bucket and a shovel/pick to use. He took us to an area that was a new digging site, that was just a short distance away. Noah said we could, also, go to any other area. We filled our bucket 2/3 full and filled the rest with rocks he had by his residence that were already dug up. He only charged $50 for a full bucket! He talked alot to us and answered lots of questions. We, then, went to the Petrified Forest Natioal Park and left shortly after getting there. We were more impressed with Noah and his business. We went back and Noah gave us another 5 gallon bucket to use and we filled it up with all the larger pieces of petrified wood that were there by his residence that had already been dug up. We LOVED Noah and his business! We would recommend this place to everyone. We would absolutely come back! All ages would love this experience.

If we could give more than a five-star, we would! Rhonda was great! Lots of pieces to pick through without even digging so we filled 1/2 our bucket in the 1st 20 minutes! Camped overnight with our 36' toyhauler and spent several blissful hours filling that bucket and 1 more! At the time of our visit, a 5 gallon bucket was $60 and the minimum price to visit is the bucket price so you might as well fill er' up!! Rhonda and Hailey (her granddaughter) got right down into the pit with us. Helped with finds and even carried buckets. Those things are HEAVY! We came away "rock drunk" it was hard to stop. Highly recommend Dobells Ranch and we will be back!! Best to call 1st so Rhonda can unlock the gate. Thanks Rhonda and Hailey, we had a wonderful time!
