When you arrive there is a very small parking lot, a bench, and 1 main path. I visited memorial weekend in May, the landscape is poorly maintained (tall grass and poison oak), and the azalea trees are sparsely growing throughout the area. If you are hoping for big bushes of blooms you will not see that, but it can be a quiet walk not far from McKinleyville. I did not stay long due to concern my vehicle could be broken into. There was a sketchy vehicle with a strange acting person who was there when I arrived, and they remained after I left.

This memorial weekend is perfect to come and see azalea blooming, we were there yesterday. Next week should be good to come too

Wonderful loop trail, says no dogs but on leash and picking up after them I don't see the trouble. Beautiful azaleas, rhododendrons, ferns and redwoods stretch across this short loop. Kind of a shady parking lot, weird characters and I def wouldn't leave my car unlocked.

When looking for something to do in the area, this park popped up. In my mind I pictured an azalea garden with various varieties of azaleas in different colors, similar to a rose garden. But it's actually a natural preserve of wild azaleas. There were lots of other flowers to look at too. We enjoyed the walk.

This reserve has a great loop trail, maybe a mile long, if that. Azaleas were at the end of their bloom, but earlier in the summer this place would be amazing with fragrance. Good examples of coastal forest here.
There is a small parking area, with a bathroom.

Cute short trail. No dogs allowed on trail. No toilet facilities or trash bin. Small parking area.

This is a nice park. The route is well maintained. There are many azeleas there but they are not always in bloom.

Went with a trash bag for the trash everyone else mentioned here, but didn't find anything. Some people were chilling off trail but I said hi and they were friendly, minding their own business. I took an elderly client here for a more interesting (but still short walk.)
