We stopped at this place on the way out of Morro Bay, what a lovely place to spend time after breakfast! Easy to find but parking is limited! It’s more of a fire road than a trail! It’s approximately 2 miles to the ocean, 4 miles r/t. Plenty of solitude and nature, a bathroom and rest bench is on the way, plenty of wildlife and bird song even a tiny toad!

Great walk (about 1.5 miles before hitting the ocean view). Quite, there's a clean large porta potty in the early part.

A beautiful, easy, & flat trail. Would be great for running since the terrain is pretty much level throughout. Beautiful scenery of foothills until you reach the end that has gorgeous ocean side cliff views. And I must say, the placement of the benches throughout the trail were very well made. There was a porta-potty available at the beginning of the trail which was surprisingly clean. Not very much shade available so I would recommend either wearing sunscreen or long sleeves to protect against sun exposure if you go on a sunny day. Other than that, the only downside is parking is sparse…very limited spots available, so be weary of that. Even so, I think it keeps the crowds down, so I’d just recommend getting there early. Definitely would do this trail again.

Nice easy trail walk. Summer slight grade elevation but not extreme. Port a potty about a half mile in.
They are benches asking the way if you need to sit and rest, and they are situated with great views.

My favorite place on the central coast of California. A short, easy hike through misty mountains that look more like the Highlands of Scotland than California, out to bluffs and tide pools. I walked this on a quiet weekday morning and I had the entire park to myself. Surrounded by quail and deer and a surprising number of snails, it was the most peaceful place I found on my trip.

Great find off the PCH with a very doable and straightforward hike that goes to beautiful ocean views. The hike is all-ages friendly (but not pet friendly - dogs aren't allowed) and is a decent length (about 2 miles each way). Tidal pools at the end are great, as are the swallow nests and views of the ocean. Lots of ground squirrels, rabbits and lizard to be seen...plus, we did see a very large kingsnake - but he was super chill.
