I went into Sports LTD to purchase my first pair of snowboard boots. As a newer snowboarder with limited knowledge, I wasn’t sure where to start. Vega was amazing—he helped me find the right size and recommended a few great boot options to get me started. He was incredibly patient, answered all my questions, and made the whole process so much easier. Even my boyfriend ended up buying boots, even though he hadn’t planned to! I went to Tahoe Sports Ltd. at the end of ski/snowboard season last year because I was ready to buy a whole new snowboarding setup. Initially I was ready to leave them a 5 star review because of how helpful everyone seemed but now a year later I feel like it was all an act to get me to buy what gear they wanted to get rid of and I was the lucky rube to walk in the door that day.

I knew I could have gotten better prices online but I like to support local shops that will help you get what you need and answer questions with their expert knowledge. I got the whole setup - new board, bindings, and boots. I'm normally a size 12 in everything but they insisted I was an 11.5 and kept pushing a specific boot - the DC Judge which was over $350.

I wore the boots for about 30 minutes in the store and I kept telling them there was no way these boots are going to stretch out to get comfortable, but they insisted and again they were the expert knowledge...

Well here I am new ski/snowboard season later and I had to buy a new pair of boots and sell the DC Judge on ebay at a huge loss because Tahoe Sports Ltd. wouldn't accept returns...

Don't fall for their tricks like I did, I called them multiple times and tried to give them a chance to rectify the situation but they weren't willing to do anything about it.

SWAP MEET QUALITY STUFF!! I bought a $270 pair of boots, tried them on, and felt okay enough. But that first session felt weird. So I pull out the liners...and of course the right one is all wonky, defective. Very poorly sewn and misformed, while the left one is perfect, new and well made. Who pulls out the liners trying them on at the store? So now I'm probably stuck with one foot positioned all screwy and messed up bcuz it's directly in THIS LINER that's NO GOOD! (See photos) If the liner is misformed, your whole stance feels off and boots are uncomfortable. ?

(Update: Even more suspicious considering how RIDE claims to make them.?)

I can’t thank Sports LTD enough! I was stopping to ride on my way to Moab and realized I had forgotten my MTB shoes. After a short walk through the store I knew I was in the right place, tons of selection. With some very knowledgeable help I selected my shoes. While in the bike department I was amazed at the professional and experienced advice I received about some local trails and bike tips for the ride from Jason Peters. He definitely knows his stuff! Brice might be very nice and friendly but for my money Jason is the best!

I had an awesome experience with Tahoe Sports Ltd when I got my boot fitting done in April of this year. Janelle was so helpful and took extra time and care with me to try on EVERY pair of boots that I wanted to and explained how they should fit and why the fit is important. And I tried a lot of different boots- so her patience with me was super appreciated. I plan to ski Tahoe again in February of 2025 and will make Tahoe Sports Ltd a stop 100%. Thanks!

This place has the rudest bike shop service people I’ve ever met in my life. I showed up with an RA warrantee number from SRAM, to have my shock sent back for repair free of charge. The middle-aged, long haired man, with the smell of alcohol on his breath at nine in the morning, was so rude. He refused to even help me unless I went to the front of the store and paid for shipping. He wouldn’t even look up the warranty number to see what the situation was and how he could help. The store manager was just as unprofessional, refused to even hear my side of the story and told me to leave the store without even checking on my warrantee. I’ve had some bad experiences here before, but this one takes the cake. If you’re ever in tahoe don’t ever use this location. Plenty of other places in town that treat locals with dignity and respect.
