My family and I just had a great time there. It was worth going to. The park was clean and well maintained. Green grass, lovely large trees all around. Large field to play your sport of choice. Excellent handicap access. My father-in-law is paraplegic and was able to move around the park quite easily in his wheelchair.

A lovely, well maintained park.
I highly recommend. There is enough parking for trailers. Paths are well kept, with multiple routes. I highly recommend this park!

My 16-yo home-schooled girlfriend had just received her temporary driving learner's permit and she needed a few more hours of driving practice, but had to have an adult with her.

So she asked if I'd go with her to Black Forest Regional Park where other homeschoolers were having an outing with their families

[BTW, she did very well in her driving skills...back roads, partial highway, neighborhood, etc. When we returned home, I gave her a "10-Thumbs UP!!!"]

I've never been to the FBRP before, so it was quite an absolutely stunning venture for me--most certainly a feast for the eyes!

On our arrival at our meeting place, getting out of the car, was it not only beautiful, peaceful, place with huge trees swaying quietly and gently in the breezes. But the thick and lush green grassy areas where one can remove shoes, runners, socks, etc. was definitely a highlight for me...sooo enjoyable to walk around in the cool, refreshing EZ-massage to my feet! 😉

PICNIC? Of course, there's a well-maintained picnic area w/sturdy seating/tables and a large canopy for protection from the sun &/or rain, etc.

Or one could just take a nap on a blanket on the cool thick grassy areas. And away from the busyness and noise of Colorado Springs.

This was my very first time visiting this park to meet up with old and new friends from the area homeschooling area groups.

All the children--young and old most certainly enjoyed the well-planned/built playground w/typical swings, slides, etc. I'm a grandma and I even fit on the seat of the swing!!! YAHOOOO!!!!!
[YUP, I've ALWAYS loved parks and swings!!! It's part of my DNA!!! LOLOL]

I DEFINITELY will return to this place when I get another break from daily living & life. And take my 6 grands in COS and their parents for an enjoyable, refreshing time together!!!

Truly a God-send-mini-vacay without traveling anywhere too far away from my hometown...Colorado Springs, Colorado!
