Came here to see a little bit of the changing colors of Colorado without having to drive hours and hours. It didn't disappoint. The trail was well maintained and easy to follow. Once we got to the dirt road though there were no signs..weird! It took us less than 2 hours with a couple short stops. Great views of Pikes Peak. There were a lot of dogs though, most of them with no leash. And a lot of their poop on bags on the side of the trail...very sad to see..

Great trail for pups and family. Some steep sections but not too long to make it too difficult. Plenty of areas along the trail to take a rest, snack or water break.

Most posts for this hike were not in the winter time with snow. So a little slipping and sliding and a little longer then we planned. Due to the conditions.

I'd consider this easy if you're in even decent shape. Very enjoyable though with lots of wildlife. Some snow and ice still on the eastern part of the loop. Several awesome views from the northern section.

Excellent hike, took our dog - we were staying in woodland park and the weather was threatening rain/sprinkles so figured we'd stay close & did not disappoint! There are some small trails that go off path so I recommend googling what the trail path looks like on alltrails etc beforehand so you feel confident to not take one of the accessory paths. Although it's closer to 5.5 mi total from trailhead to loop, the terrain is fairly easy.

The trail has a nice designated parking lot for the trail head. The trail has some changes in elevation. It was a fun trail. It could be marked a bit better in places.

Good trail with plenty of parking. It’s a fairly easy hike that would be good for kids or pets.

There’s a great view of Pikes Peak from the parking lot actually. The initial climb isn’t very scenic since you’re hiking behind the city’s utilities/road department equipment yard and some outlying homes, but once you get up into the trees it’s very beautiful. There’s a stream and several panoramic views.
