Had a custom boot fitting with Loraine. She was amazing! Very knowledgeable and experienced. She was able to fix my daughter’s blister problems that more expensive shops in Summit county were not able to. Highly recommend!

After snowboarding all my adult life I recently decided to buy a backcountry/touring ski setup. Not knowing anything and being slightly overwhelmed by the comparitively complicated ski gear, I went to Pine Needle for some help getting boots fitted and getting the right kind of skis and bindings. The employees there were super helpful and not at all condescending the way some shops can be with newbies. They got me sorted out on all fronts and now I'm ready to go do some chill touring away from the crowds.

They lost two customers today.. I witnessed the ski tech berate a customer who had a binding rip out of his ski. The conversation was about how the ski manufacturer (Icelantic) said the failure was due to improper mounting. The ski tech said it was the fault of the customer for having tele bindings mounted on this ski (?!?). Yet you are the one who took this customers money to mount this ski in the first place? Anyways, I witnessed the employee yell at and berate the customer for his “dumb decision” to mount this ski with this binding and refuse to help. The help that should have been offered is to install Quiver Killers or other binding inserts to increase the pull out strength of the binding mount. This was not offered. Frankly the behavior witnessed was inappropriate and uncomfortable for me and other shoppers to overhear. Unfortunate. They lost more than just that one customer today…

I brought in a sleeping bag with a broken zipper and these legends repaired it gratis. Tyler and Duncan, you made the remaining 1,000 miles of my CDT thru hike infinitely more pleasant. Above and beyond service, nothing short of trail magic. Huge respect!

Excellent outdoor gear store in downtown Durango. Growing up in the area, it was (and continues to be) one of my family's go to spots for everything from gifts to gear repair.
