I got a new used bike and came to Gearage this evening to find some stuff secondhand to make it into my commuter. I found some awesome attachments and the bike guy working was wondering and super friendly. He helped out a lot with putting it on and giving some advice. Super thankful for having something like this in Fort Collins. I find the store super easy to navigate for it being secondhand stuff! Thank you!

Consignments Beware, Staff are friendly, was greeted immediately upon walking in the door. Offered snowboards and bindings for for consignment, Jose took 3 out 5 boards and 2 sets of bindings (best of the bunch) he priced out everything in front of me as I wanted to ensure our expectations aligned.
After having done all of this I thought we were in good shape considering other equipment in the building was in same or worse (subjective) condition at a higher price.
4 hours later I get a phone call from him saying that he's decided that they do not want to consign the products due to the age of the snowboard mounting patterns on the boards
This should be something that I was warned about during our discussion in person.
Upon returning the next day to pick up my items, The employees who help me seem surprised that my items had been refused for consignment as they were in good condition and have the same mounting patterns as items already for sale on their shelves.

Disappointed to waste 3 hours of my time and $10 worth of gas driving back and forth when I should have just taken my stuff over to Play It again sports were they immediately gave me a fair deal in cash for all of that equipment as well as the items that Jose refused.

I understand the need to maintain quality of product especially in a downtown shop that would normally hold higher end products but I'm still surprised that I was seeing products being sold with the same setups, but being refused for equipment in good used condition of the same types

Was previously a repeat customer, but they've lost me as a continuing customer, due to not being clear about their policies and handling of this situation.

Gearage has such great deals on everything in my sports closet. I kick myself every time I walk in bc i paid full price for too many things rather than go to the Gearage to buy it!!!
Great staff- nice, informative, knowledgeable.

Pricing for items are a ripoff for used gear, go to second wind sports if you want reasonably priced items.

This shop is great! Needed to replace tires and tubes on a bike and they had everything I needed. Joe is fantastic!

I walk my 5 dogs by this place several times a day. I get all my kayak mtn bike and outdoor accessories. You’re also supporting an amazing local owner, Jose, who will remember your name quicker than you can remember his. All the employees are incredibly nice too. Skip REI next time folks!
