This is by far the finest athletic shoes experience I have ever had. I have a problematic foot and rarely have even a choice of one type of shoe when purchasing. At Fleet feet, Ben took such amazing care of me and brought out six or seven different possibilities and sent over 90 minutes with me making sure that all of the different components of the fit were just right for my foot issues. He also was able to fit me in new Orthotics and socks to assist with my plantar fasciitis. I would make a trip to DC just to be waited on by him at this store with this amazing selection and service. Run don't walk to Fleet feet. You won't regret it!

I cannot rave enough about this store. I took my 82 year old mother in to get new walking shoes - she has a range of hip and foot problems and while totally with it can get confused or flustered. Ben waited on us and he had so much patience, listened to everything my mom said, and found her a shoe and an insole that are so great her physical therapist says they’re helping her hip problems. We came back for an additional pair to use for less uneven surfaces, saw Ben again and got the same incredible treatment. He made my mom feel heard and also more confident about walking. Toward the end of our visit, Ben started to help a young woman going into high school getting shoes for her first cross country season; I could hear him putting her at ease and getting her to open up about her love of sports as he found her the right shoe. Literally, from age 12 to 82 and beyond these folks will give you the best service to make sure you can be the active person you want to be.

It's a shame the owner actively campaigns against bike lanes and pedestrian safety improvements. You can find his rants on WUSA9. If you care about these issues, take your business elsewhere.

The salesman was so helpful. Best shoe buying experience I've had. We talked about the current shoes I had, the tradeoffs of the different shoes, how they affected my health and fitness, and which shoes would be best for working out. I ended up with New Balances that feel perfect and more importantly I understand why I need them. Will return here.
