Podiatrist recommended shoes. I'm on my feet a lot, had plantar fasciitis from running and buy my Oofos shoes here. The Oofos recovery sandals without the straps are the best, lasts a couple years or more and are easy to clean...and their work shoes are very supportive. I also bought a pair of Danskos in their clearance section which lasted a year.

Really small store. Not much selection. Waited ten minutes for women to bring me a pair of shoes. Her cell phone rang. I left.

I went to the store about 15 minutes ago. I knew exactly what I wanted. A shoe called.Oofus . not one lady approached me and said hello. Can I help you? I’ll be with you in one second. I picked up the shoes asked, can I get size 7 1/2 she said oh go try on the display and see if that’ll work for you and you’ll see if you like them. I was astounded probably because I’m black. I still purchase the shoes for $138 She didn’t even wanna give me a bag for the shoes I just purchased. I had to ask her for a bag. I will never come back in the store again ever it’s racist.

I really love this store for their personal attention & their ability to find a shoe that will help correct a problem you're having with your feet. They don't sell any cheaply made shoes, so expect that the prices will be rather high. But you simply cannot find a store that will care more about your feet, your comfort, or your satisfaction than Ackerman's. I have bought only sneakers from them (many times over the years), but I do know they also sell women's sandals, men's dress shoes, etc. I've also seen shoe inserts, handbags, and backpacks in their store. If you need help finding a good shoe, these are the people to see.

Just got an awesome pair of shoes for work, so cute & comfy! Diane was very helpful and knowledgeable about which shoes would be best for being on my feet all day! Thank you for great customer service, I will be back in the fall for another pair!! SHOP LOCAL!!!

Highly recommend! More people need to look here for hard to find gems and cute comfortable shoes. My husband got a pair of New Balance (motion control) that have lasted him over 9 years.

He also buys his work boots water proof/Dura Shocks, special ordered from the Wolverine Company. Akerman's make sure the ones he ordered would fit. Plus he buys his insoles, they have everything right there. Great USA made socks. I could go on. Love this store.

Beware if you need to make a return! The shoes I purchased left blisters on both of my feet the one and only day that I wore them. I tried to return them and was told they won't take them back because they are worn. The woman told me that this has been their policy for 60 years and that I should put them on Ebay. So I have $150 shoes that I cannot wear. Needless to say, I will never shop there again.
