The sales rep tried telling me only the narrow width XC Skis work on the classic groomed trails in Anchorage. If I wanted to XC ski off track and groomed track, I would need to purchase two sets of skis and boots to meet my needs. Anyways, that's not true, so I went over to the big CO-OP and purchased my new XC Skis and boots.

Brought two pairs of skis in for stone grinds and let me just start by saying the bases look great, BUT I'm really disappointed by the lack of care from an employee removing the service tags and tape. As the employee removed the service tag he ripped about a half dollar size area of topcoat off one pair of skis, and left half the tape and a bunch of residue on the other. It seems like regular packaging tape, and I hope AMH starts using something else to attach service tags, extremely disappointed to see my skis treated that way when the service I brought them in for was so good!

Awesome store for all mountain equipment in Anchorage.

My friend and I were in town for a few days before heading to Denali and first visited REI. The service there wasn’t great and they were out of stock on a lot of items so we decided to check out AMH.

In retrospect, we should have never even gone to REI and picked up everything at AMH. They have more selection, better service, better prices, and just much easier to deal with.

They had small accessory parts that we thought we wouldn’t be able to find which was amazing.

I would highly recommend people just stopping here before they head out to Denali (or any other climb).

Best xc ski rental prices in Alaska! Had some issues with being billed twice for an item we bought along w the rental and being charged for 3x days instead of 1 but both issues were resolved and we were so happy w the rates. Definitely come here for your rentals, top of the line gear just make sure you check your receipt and understand the rates! Loved renting here would recommend.
