I got a call back from a Lydia who interrupted me every time I tried to ask a question, and who had absolutely No interest in helping me even though I told her that I’d always paid my water bill on time since I was 18 years old. I have fallen on hard times right now and Lydia just kept asking me if I would be paying with a debit card or check. In fact, I had many questions to ask but she cut me off and treated me as though I had never been a good customer. I have never been shut off and all I wanted to know was when I would receive a shut off notice. I was very upset and she flat out didn’t care to answer any questions- she kept grilling me about how I was going to pay my bill today. She treated me as though I had no right to ask her anything- the only thing she wanted to hear was how I would pay $81 today.
I told her that I was going to call and ask someone else and when I was trying to do so she called me back and I told her that I wanted to talk to a representative who would listen to my questions and not just treat me like a bill collector!
So I kept trying to call and when someone answered after 30 minutes, I explained to Jordan how I had been treated and asked her if she would answer my questions? There was a long silence, and I said “Hello are you still there?” I looked at my phone and the minutes were still adding up, so I said: Hello, Jordan I know you’re still there!”
Then she hung up on me.
I was treated like this after 40 years of paying them on time and tonight I am going to bed terrified of IL American Water and the power that they have to conduct customer service in such a manner that the customer is left helpless and unable to get help even after 40 years.

I had a leak in my yard.Took 6 Days to repair. They refused to adjust my bill. Now my bill for October is $536. I'm a dingle guy
I shower at the Gym, nonly use my Microwave. They said they would take $200 off the 425

Your net profit in 2022 was $768 million. Just last year you more than doubled your rates. Public Utilities should NEVER be for profit. My sewer bill has gone from $30-$50 a month to $125-$145 a month, Just for sewer. Tired of all the gouging by greed monger corporations. Fix yourselves

You guys are crooks… 30 days to process a dispute… Funny enough that’s the same amount of days that Verizon holds your call history…. And then you come back with you don’t have a record of me calling. Not sure why we allow monopolies on services like this. You are disgusting.

I guess the water/sewage company has it all figured out over the other utilities. It doesn't make sense to mail the bill to the service address or to your place of convenience so the bill gets paid on time, just send all the bills to the property owner, dumbest solution ever. And if I wanted electronic bill payment or to go online I would've done that! 🤬😡

Only giving them a 1 because I can't give less. Not only are they using a third party company to accept payments online, they are now telling me they aren't using the company and that they have never received the money. It's sad how they try to take advantage of people in this trying time with the shady schemes and monopoly on the second most important thing every living thing on the planet needs.

My water is off color, almost a yellow; also has an off order. It taste horrible and is not drinkable. I don’t even want to bathe my kids in it! Please fix your filtration system or whatever is wrong.

I have been trying to get through to someone all morning and absolutely no luck. Everytime they call me back it’s dead silence while I’m saying hello then they hang up. And I’m trying to get my water on considering I just moved and have kids! This is absolutely ridiculous
