I brought Alex a pair of decades-old Johnston & Murphy shoes with soles nearly worn through and cracks in the welt. He rewelted and resoled them expertly, and brought the uppers back to life. The work looks like it came from the factory, perfect in every detail, and the shoes look and feel flawless. Plus which he's a great guy with a sparkling sense of humor. I would not hesitate to recommend his shop to anyone. Thanks Alex!

I would NOT recommend this shop! The owner lied to me saying he would replace the heels on my boots at a cost of $60.00 and all he did was replace the pads on the heels. They look horrible! Also, he said come back in a week and when I arrived he was still working on them. Obviously a last minute job. That is money I could have applied to a new pair of boots!

I took my mom to this place looking forward to have 4 pairs of shoes repaired and in hope they made custom made shoes, I asked the attendant if they made custom made shoes he said no, I asked would you happen to know anyone in the area who would and he said no, paused and said Mexico! I tried laughing it off and said we have not been there, we are not from there. He said I didn't say you are from there. At this point I had not been told "how may I help you" yet. He received a call and an uncomfortable feeling came to me. Why would I make business with such individual? We left. As we got in the car he came out and screamed something I was not able to hear. We left. There are several professional places in the area that will welcome our business.

Today was my third time here within the past two months, and Alex has been very helpful and direct with telling me what is possible to do or not.
I had previously been to another place at the mall, which repaired them poorly. I brought them to Alex and he fixed the same pair to a higher quality! It is very hard to find any true shoe repair places around, and his shop reminds me of authentic repair stores from my childhood. He tells you whats possible and has never overcharged me, he’s a genuine business owner.

My review wasn’t to degrade but to give input on my experience and that’s what I did . The owner took accountability as he should and it’s no hard feelings at all .

What I don’t agree with is all the Random and FORCED reviews being sent out to discredited my experience. No one is saying this man is a bad guy he just had a bad day and that’s ok . But for him to apologize and later get people to send out reviews to stop mine from showing does nothing but contradict his apology but also PROVE my point on how I was treated .

And now I see why he felt like it was ok to treat me a certain way because his CLIENTELE also goes by that code of conduct ( Everyone isn’t treated equally) . So your reviews make sense everyone is judging a character before knowing the person .

This is equivalent to Me asking my 5k following to send this place bad reviews but I won’t do that because I wasn’t raised on ignorance I was raised on integrity.

Rather you see my one star review being shocking or not to speak on my experience is very outrageous, secondly to say you’re a POC when I SEEN you with my own eyes is also outrageous. You don’t know what it feels like to walk in my shoes and never will and I LOVE that for you so please don’t sit here and say you’re someone we both Know you are not .

I hope the 20$ I DONATED for a service only ONE shoe received plants the seed of ACCOUNTABILITY. My last time speaking on this business or this matter .

Everyone from the business to the clients do better this way of thinking is sick . As much as I want to accept this apology the aftermath of having people create forced reviews shows that wasn’t a genuine apology and I’m glad yall did this so people see THE TRUTH

Seeing that there was a 1-star rating here made me shocked! I happen to be the "customers daughter" in that review left & was superrr confused. Alex is a great owner, & I think they go the wrong impression of him sadly 🙁 Especially the comment about race, as I'm also a POC, he's very kind to me and my mother. Plus, his grandchildren, whom he loves dearly, are the same race as that woman? He had their photos in his store, so if you really look around and get to know him, (like his name, which my mom asked the first time she met him) your experience will feel even more personal! Were friendly people so we wanted to know him better, he told my mom he's Ukrainian, so knowing that he comes from a culture where people are very direct, we took this into account & know that he's helping us, not belittling us. I hope anyone who read the other review reads this one & isn't deterred by a misunderstanding. Coming from a teenager, I think we should all be more understanding & kind. His work is great & so is his character. I'd definitely recommend his business!
