Perfect for a FL winter day. Bring your visitors here to see a gator. Ask at Environmental Center about open trails as the map doesn’t specify which trails are closed or rerouted due to water or construction. Would be muddy and buggy just after the rain or in mosquito heavy times. Can still walk through and enter when the car gate and Environmental Center building is closed.

As someone who used to fish here the city has come along and ruined the trail.

It wasn't the most hospitable trail before with mud and pockets of water during the rainy season but it was walkable and I would see bikers on it from time to time. Now it looks like someone has taken a tiller and ruined the path. It's almost unwalkable. I didn't see any posted notice as to why either.

Nice one mile in and out hike. Half a mile to the harbor, there was a narrow strip of beach that went in both directions for as far as I could see. No fee to enter. Small parking lot.

Not sure why it says it closes so early, the main trail leads to a west-facing water view that is obviously designed to allow you to watch the sun set. I added an hour with google’s “suggest an edit” but you can stay around till it gets dark, it is a very pretty trail.

Nice quiet walk to the water. It was pretty muddy due to the storm that just came through, and we couldn't get to the water due to all the deep mud. This wapuld be a great place to walk when the ground is not saturated.

What a lovely preserve! I went on the path that goes straight when you're walking out of the parking lot by the signage.
Dogs allowed.
Ample parking.
Well maintained.

Definitely will be coming back to check out some of the other paths!

I didn't know this place existed! Very beautiful. It looks really healthy and I saw a ton of different wildflowers, birds, and a gopher tortoise as well. The trail isn't too long and it ends at the water with a bench surrounded with seagrape and mangrove trees to watch the sunset. The start of the trail has a small parking lot, trashcan, map, and some information about the trail. I will definitely come back!

Very accessible trail and easy to walk. Easy access to water. Highly recommend spending a couple hours and taking the trail. Go at varying times of the day, including early morning and late evening and you won't be disappointed. Always birds and I have also come up on mother hog and babies.
