Great campground with alot of things to do. Alot of hiking trails. Beautiful scenery and a good amount of wildlife. Campground is somewhat lacking and the bathrooms and showers are pretty nasty, old, and need help.
The sites are average and the trash cans are emptied regularly. The pool at the park is kind of unclean. The bathrooms and changing areas look as if they are not cleaned regularly. The amount of debri on the bottom of the pool is pretty bad. The pool is filled with a pump that is taking water out of the small stream beside it. Just seems slightly unsanitary. The wildlife sanctuary is sad and does nothing but make you feel for the few poor animals in those small Cages. The museum is interesting. The park has many playgrounds and pavilions for get togethers. A very nice amphitheater is also located here.

We just basically drove thru, but what we saw was beautiful. I wish we'd been there on the right day, to see the play. I did appreciate their tribute to the coal miners lost in the largest mining accident.

It's a nice centrally located, needs a few upgrades. But for the money...we had fun & breakfast is Awesome! Definitely will be back soon. Lot of things we're gonna check out💪👍👍🇺🇸♥️

This park was part of my 1 month plan to visit West Virginia’ State Resort Parks campgrounds with my MB Sprinter motor home. Arriving on Sunday produced plenty of vacancy’s and even allowed me the so see the final night’s performance of the musical Annie at its outdoor Amphitheater. ($12). The Park is very extensive but with plenty of steep and windy mountain roads to navigate. The lodge was a good respite from the 90+ degree daily temperatures and it’s upscale restaurant allowed me the opportunity of NOT having to cook one night with a delicious Rainbow Trout supper for under $20. There is an interesting and free museum at the park office building which profiles WV history with regard to its coal mining industry and its many disasters, strikes and floods. To quote a song from Annie, “Its a hard knock life”. Unfortunately the Wildlife Exhibit was closed during my 3 day stay.

We went there for Easter and it was a nice little vacation. Didnt have anything local for drinks and food though so I'm I would suggest bringing some snacks and drinks with you 😜

Chief Logan State Park is such a beautiful campground with an incredible drive in as well.

The sites were clean and tidy and the restrooms/shower were well taken care of. There is a fire ring provided as well as full size metal trash cans at each site which was quite nice.

There are wild deer roaming the ground and some really cool sites to see on property along with the neat little creek that ran behind my site.

I would definitely stay here again in the future if I was back in the area!
