Grew up in Collinsville, returned to purchase my first home here as well.
For a service that is a basic human necessity, and as civil servants, you would think paying a water bill would be easy.
Not the case.
I won’t generalize the entire department, because I have only had issue with “Kathy”. When I have called or went in with questions of any kind, she is cold, rude, and unwilling to help or go out of her way.
The first time I waited to pay the bill on the second due date, I didn’t have an envelope or pen, but went in to work late so I could personally hand the cash to the cashier. Although my payment was received just minutes after 9am and was not disconnected, I was forced to pay the $50 disconnect fee. I was informed that had I dropped the payment in the box before 9am instead of hand delivering it as they unlocked the door. I explained my confusion and frustration and she was not at all compassionate and almost rude - she made me cry. The city LOVES to collect disconnect fees on top of late fees by ( sure) a good percentage of the struggling population, but makes no effort to care about convenience or simple human understanding. I don’t ask for much but don’t expect anything from these folks except fees and coldness.

The water department holds $100 against all of its customers for the first two years you're with them. That's how much it trusts them. There is little to no customer service, and even after never missing a payment (ever), they will charge as many service fees as they can when you close your account. It is the exact opposite of what a small, hometown utility should be. The only thing worse is the Collinsville postal service.

Hours of operations for Field Technicians should be longer than 4:30pm to clock out knowingly not finishing ALL work orders provided to you is insane. As a company you all should and need to be ashamed of yourselves and how you treat the people of Collinsville community. Do better because GOD knows and sees everything

$3.49 fee TO PAY ONLINE!! Also, gotta love when the city you live in shuts off your water DURING A PANDEMIC and when you barely have enough to pay the ridiculous amount they claim you owe then hangs up on you when try to have them turn it back on leaving you with no sanitary or drink solutions other than having to buy bottled water. Corruption at it's finest.

Two of your guys helped me out today when I was having car problems. They took me to the gas station and back to my car. Two of the nicest gentlemen I have encountered and represented Collinsville very positively! I didn't catch their names but they were trustworthy and helped me when I needed it the most! Thank you, much appreciated!! Give those guys a raise!

Gonna givame yall 5. Last night had a couple of yall come out and shut water off due to emergency. What you didn't have to do and were kind enough to is wait for me to get a valve cut the pipe and get the new valve installed so that I would have water for Christmas and then turned it back on. Thank you guys very much and merry Christmas.

Moved into a new place with the water shut off. Dropped off my deposit and information at 2:30pm and the water was on less than an hour later. Staff was friendly and informative. Deposit was $150 with $10 fee.
