Apparently got a new billing system which I had zero ideas about, technician told me it was a mess and everything was treated poorly. Slapped a fee on there and wouldn’t waive it. What a joke.

They changed their automated billing system vendor recently and never notified myself or other customers, as you will see in other reviews. They never transferred valid and current banking information to this new platform. Conveniently enough for Columbus Utilities, that means they get to charge huge late fees for something that is entirely their fault. If Columbus Utilities wants to change their banking methods, they should be accountable for a successful transition in such, not us.

Make no mistake, the failings of Columbus Utilities are not a recent addition. Over the years I have never successfully had someone return my calls or emails. Today was the very first time I got through to a customer service agent during business hours. I would be impressed by this improvement if I was not already angry over the fraudulent charges myself and others received.

Worst utility company I've ever seen!! They've changed the online billing portal but didn't clear communicate your customers about the change. This company just sent the utility bill by regular mail and in the bill statement you don't find any information about new online portal to reenter your auto pay information. Then if you didn't realize by yourself that was something wrong and that you need to re do your online registration and set a new auto pay before a due date, they simply doubled your bill considering as a late fee payment. I called their service guest and they recognized that there is a very unclear communication on this change, however they are only sorry about this and they can't revert back any late fee charge....Good for them, I can imagine how many other customers had this very unpleasant surprise. They don't need to be concerned about my comments and customers dissatisfaction, they're are the only option in this city...

Very unprofessional! We got charged a late fee for a system error on their end. You would think if your system messed up you would just eat the loss especially for customers set in auto pay but not columbus utilities. Thanks guys👍

They harbor old water meters that are incompatible with modern technology that could have potentially saved me from a $300 bill due to some water leak. They also claim I cannot access the meter pit to keep an eye on the meter reading my self nor will they tell me where it even is. Sure sounds like a scam. How do I know they didn't mess up the reading? I really hate this city. Code Enforcement will harass you after someone complains about you, too.

I would just like to say that the help and service of the lady's that are behind the counter are the most understanding, and caring . They have to deal with some very unhappy and disrespectful people, but they have helped me and my handicapped daughter Kyrstin when no one else would. They could have been like so many others around this town and not think twice or not care weather she would have what she needed to live. It was only for 4 days but it was everything to me and my family. My family and I will never for get the help and understanding that those wonderful lady's have done. I can never thank you enough for just been there for the help it wasn't a lot but it was more then you will ever know .

We had a water supply line break under our driveway on a Sunday. The technician on call was quick to respond. The office personnel with whom I spoke on the phone several times went above and beyond to provide the service we expected.

We found this in our bushes TWO DAYS later! We never received any other forms of notification. We drink a lot of water in our house and we were ALL really sick last night! Thanks so much for the do diligence!
