It didn’t take long for me to meet Phil and Marcey when I moved to the neighborhood. Over the last several years they have fixed several things of mine, I’ve watched how they interact with the community, and how much attention they give every piece.

Even when facing health issues, I’ve watched Phil work 12 hour days all week to get shoes back to customers on time. I’ve seen Marcey repair and find innovative ways to give new life to pieces that are not always of much monetary value but sentimental value. I’ve seen their generosity on more than one occasion doing projects for less than they should and giving away shoes for free to help people.

Sadly what inspired me to leave a review though is how people with the least valuable, and lowest paying items, often seem to be the ones that are extremely disrespectful and impatient.

There are signs posted and they tell every customer that medical comes first. They are very upfront and tell customers they have a lot of items in line, that they will call when it’s done, and it might take realistically 2-4 weeks.

I’m not surprised by a bad review, or a customer having a meltdown, because I’ve worked with the public long enough to know people hear what they want to hear. If you expect Phil to cater to your disturbing sense of entitlement I promise this isn’t the shop to drop your shoes off at. As a neighbor and customer they have always been honest, hardworking, and have a genuine love for the community. We need to encourage our small businesses not treat them like a faceless corporation.

It's hard to find a good show repair place like this. Not sure what about the severity of the rectal foreign body of that one star review but I definitely recommend this place. Got some great advice on leather care, as well as authentic customer service. There's a lot of experience at this place, and id rather take my leatherwork here than a chain. Can't wait to go back.

I brought 3 pairs of sandals in and paid up front upon Phil’s insistence. After almost 2 months I got 2 back and one has the strings coming off the back already. He cannot give a date when he will get me the third bit kept telling me he was waiting on material from Italy, sickness with girlfriend? December 13th said working on it and should be finished in a week and drop off other broken pair to repair. Month later same thing. Just starting to work because didn’t like material. I just want my money back now, a lot of money, and I will buy a new pair of shoes before I lose the season to wear them.

The way the owner treats people is beyond belief. I dropped off my boots and too have them repaired. I paid upfront And the owner would not give me a timetable on when they'd be done After a certain point I told him I had to leave town and if he couldn't get them done can I please get them he had me come in and when I did went on to tell me about his health problems and how he came in on holidays to get the order finished, And got belligerent with me If you're going to run a business it's a mild expectation that the customer knows when they'll be able to get their product back this isn't rocket science. That and I'm sorry you have cancer but that doesn't excuse not understanding how to manage your time or business. If you can't do it don't take the money

Took some old Carolina loggers in for a resole and am very pleased with the work. Cleaned them up and conditioned them nice. He put screws in the sole around the toe like higher end boots might have. Even went through the extra trouble to re-stitch around the heel counter where lining was coming loose. Definitely more than expected for the price paid.

I have enjoyed my experience with this establishment. The owners are personable and really do good work. Work is delivered as promised, and the rates are reasonable. I really appreciate having a shoe repair place in our local area - they are few and far between - and this is a good one!

Was treated very rudely by the proprietor. Have used them before but they took forever to do my repair. Have bought some used shoes from them before but will never return here! I'd give them ZERO stars if I could! Don't bother taking anything for repair here!
