Great secluded camping area. We did the primitive campsite back in November. The campground was nice and flat, and the fire pits are good heavy duty ones too. We did have to hike a bit to find decent firewood tho, but that's camping. Definitely recommend.

I have wanted to stay here for awhile now and this year we finally did. The campsites are very nice, however they're closer together than some other places. The other thing I don't like as much is this site has a parking lot and you have to walk to your campsite, no big deal because the campsites are close to it. However it makes it a pain depending on what all you bring camping. Nice big pine trees that are great for hammock camping though. They also have picnic tables and fire rings at each campsite. We didn't get to explore a lot on our trip because I have a broken foot. However we did shoot some senior photos here. If I remember I'll update my post when I get them edited.

This is an awesome state park! It has a playground for children to play and even has a pool! We hiked on the Ghost Dance trail, and it is a nice trail. I wouldn't recommend bringing a young child, my 2 year old struggled on this hike. But we enjoyed ourselves overall! & we also got to bring our dogs as it's pet friendly. Also has public restroom. Would recommend visiting here!

It is a beautiful, not crowded area. We were trying to find the hiking trails but didn't have reception to use our huking app. It was tricky to find a trailhead because there wasn't much sinage. Download directions before you go to be safe.
The trail was very nice ince we found it.

Dixon Springs seemed like a nice park area. The primitive!(tent) camping $6 a night and camper camping was available. Unsure of the price on the camper camping but it seemed to have an electric hook up. Part of the park was blocked off I assume because it was out of season but from what we saw it still seemed really nice. There was also a decent waterfall for the area as well.

Good people when it's full, no people when it's the off season. The place is well kept and quiet even when folks are around.

Only real issue are the bugs. Lot's of stink bugs that like to hang out on your tent, so bring the raid. Bugs are to be expected though.

Overall excellent park!

The upper waterfall only flows after a good rain. Also, it's not part of the spring. The springs come out of other random spots in the ground. And one thing left out of the pictures, no swimming. Other than that, it's a nice park, and there is a pool built up where they feed spring water in.

My daughter and I absolutely love Dixon Springs! It's one of our favorite places in southern Illinois. The waterfall flows best after some good rain, pictures were taken after we had several inches of rain.
