Falklis Fit in Tarpon Springs is my 14th, and final cobbler in ten years. My experience from my initial phone call inquiry with Amanda, straight through walking into the well lit store to a friendly Vasile was exceptional.
It has been medically necessary for me to have a thirteen millimeter lift installed on all of my footwear. Over the last 10 years, I have had dozens of shoes altered in 4 states, including the tampa area. The process is expensive, frequent and hard to find.
It must be precise and ideally unnoticeable. If the workmanship is shoddy, sloppy or rushed there is no redo. Scary stuff to leave a 200$ running shoe with strangers.
I picked up my shoes today from this clearly well established, busy business. I watched Amanda and Vasile efficiently and patiently deal with a half dozen happy clients.
The results? I have had so many meh results, I was not expecting the craftsmanship I was handed. They are PERFECT. Without question, the care, tapering and almost invisible lift was obvious. I was fitted, balanced and set on my way within minutes. I highly recommend this cobbler, and in fact will state I will fly myself or my shoes there from here on out.
Do not make the mistake of passing this business. I promise you won't regret it.

Poor customer service, very rude and unprofessional.

I don’t ever leave reviews, especially negative ones but I am a very disappointed customer.

Dropped off a pair of heels in early November (it’s January 2025), a strap was broken on one of the heels and was I hoping to get them repaired before the holiday season. The lady at the front counter told me it would be a couple weeks, its “ a simple fix and just needed to be stitched. “
After about 3 weeks, I had received zero communication about the shoe. When I called in regards to the shoe, the same lady answered the phone, after her searching for the shoe while on the phone with me, she very rudely, told me that the the shoe was not finished and they would call when it’s done. I waited another 2 weeks and called again, and was told once again, that they would call and I felt as if I was being a burden. She said that they don’t have an employee that only does shoe repair, so when the company has “free” time to repair shoes is when it would be done. It is now January 3, 2025. I STILL haven’t received my shoe or any type of communication as to when it’s going to be done. I have never experienced this type of customer service or business in my life. A shoe repair store, that advertises repair and sales— and I can’t even get anything done.

I will not suggest this company for anything! It’s hard to support small business when the small business is horrible.

I have been having terrible foot pain for quite some time and decided to make an appointment with Faklis Department store. I was given a very thorough exam which took a good hour by Vasile the owner who is a licensed Orthodist. He reviewed my gait, balance, alignment, and observed how I walked, taking into account prior surgeries that was done on both knees and back as well surgery on my feet. Vasile then recommended a custom pair of orthotic insoles that made a huge impact on reducing my pain level. Faklis Department store has a large selection of dress shoes, walking shoes, which I choose, socks, and other items for people like myself who have difficulty finding comfortable footwear. I highly recommend Faklis for quality service.

Took my daughters college backpack in to get the zipper pull out back on. No teeth on the zipper were broken the pull just came off. I specifically showed the lady this when I dropped it off. Was given a quote of $10 on the phone and it ended up costing over $26. When I picked up the backpack the teethed were cut to put the pull back on I was clearly upset and pointed it out. They sewed it so that the pull would not just come right off again. When I called to complain about the substandard work I was told that the owner would call me back and she was sure he would refund me for the trouble. When the owner called back he was not very pleasant and literally told me he did not fix it himself so does not know what it was like. He was not apologetic and said this is how they fix these things. I could’ve cut the teeth myself and done what they did in 10 minutes. Very displeased with the lack of craftsmanship as well as the extreme lack of customer service on the owners part. This was my first time using this company and last. I really wanted to do business with a local Greek business and am really disappointed that I did so. They ruined an expensive college backpack. Highly disgusted with the entire place at this time. Especially since the owner did nothing to try and rectify the situation. Bad business

I wish I could give ZERO stars!!! I dropped my cowboy boots of over two months ago and they still weren’t finished when I showed up today. When I first dropped them off they told me one week. I didn’t need them anytime soon so it was about a month when I went back to pick them up the first time. They hadn’t even been looked at or touched. So reluctantly I was like ok and left. Now when they were originally dropped off I was charged $42.00 and one heel was supposed to be wrapped and they were going to be polished and conditioned but when I picked them up over TWO months later, the heel wasn’t done properly, they weren’t polished or conditioned. The woman couldn’t even explain to me anything but “ the reason why we didn’t call you was because apparently when you wrap the heel it has a tendency of not turning out properly but would you like us to finish them”. Like really you had them over two months and the way she looked at me and tried to talk to me was like I was bothering her and how dare I be upset. Absolutely HORRIBLE experience!! DO NOT GIVE THEM ANY BUSINESS!!!

I am simply appalled by how I was treated and on top of that, they ruined my shoes! I took a long time to write this review because I usually don't do this, but I am so furious that I won't let this go unnoticed!

It started when I asked for the studs on my shoes to be replaced and the red sole to be glued to prevent damage. What happened? The sole got damaged after just one use! The glued rubber came off and ruined my sole!

The service experience was even worse. I left my shoes on Saturday and asked for them to be ready by Wednesday because I had an important trip and I planned to pick them up on my way to the airport. They said it wouldn't be a problem. However, when I arrived to pick up my shoes, they said they forgot to do them and would do it immediately. I had to wait 40 minutes. I almost missed my flight!

The woman refunded my money for the service, and I admit I paid nearly $60. I was shocked, but I thought it was worth it if the service was done correctly. I thought they did it as compensation. After the shoes were repaired, the owner said I needed to pay for the service again. This is insane! I just couldn't believe it, but I had to pay again. Now, I look at these shoes that are ruined and can't believe I agreed to let them repair them after they forgot about them. I would have done a better job myself. I really don't recommend this place. I am very disappointed.

I have taken shoes for repair to the Faklis Department Store for many years. The owners and employees are always warm and courteous, the quality of the workmanship is excellent, and the prices are very fair. I recommend them without reservation.
