Winter hiking destination for me almost the last 20 years. I've taken 7 or 8 laps up to the Fire Tower and down to the lakes since then with another lap just today. Quiet, good exercise plus abundant wildlife. As with any outdoor trail you have to watch your step at times but at least these paths are maintained.

Enjoy some outdoor time then head to the nearby town of Ferdinand, get some grub.

Beautiful. Nice clean little park with primitive camping, hiking, canoeing, swimming, and fishing. Water is available near most campsites. RV dumpsite. Boat launch. Kayak launch. Lots of vault toilets. But we only found one shower spot at the beach area to wash off after swimming. No hot water. Peaceful, calm,never crowded.

We had fun hiking around the lake on the yellow trail! We took our time, smelled the pines, listened to birds and tree frogs, watched the geese, ducks and turtles, and sat on the benches. Taking our time it was about an hour. It is steep in places.

I like the trails, but after heavier rain, they get muddy and hard to pass due to streams (no bridges).

The drive to get there is beautiful as is the park.There are many small lakes to fish.The biggest lake has a beach,canoe and row boat rental You can bring your own small boat with electric motor.There are many benches along shore to just sit and enjoy the scenery.Saw lots of water fowl, turtles,frogs and a couple of snakes.Lots of picnic tables and 3 shelter houses next to lake there are 2 more away from lake. Both campgrounds are primitive with only vault restroom.10 miles of hiking trails that are moderate.All are well maintained.This was a nice surprise.

This place has brought so many happy memories into my family's life. Always a great place to escape the daily grind and experience nature. We love taking the kids to swim here and the campgrounds are fantastic.
