I didn't update my phone number and didn't realize I let the water get cut off. I call to pay it(1 month being almost 300.00 for some reason) I obviously get a newer employee who is unsure of letting me turn it back on myself after full payment. I explained that she just has to make a note on it so we don't get in trouble, that I homeschool 4 kids, and their hamster just passed this morning. I can't wait till 4:00 to have running water. She said fine, I'll make a note and proceeds to hang up on me before I even got out a thank you..

I know I'm not really that old enough to be saying this. But how hard is it for people our age (or anyone really) to just be polite while doing your job? You have literally no idea what the other person is going through. Like comforting grieving children today...

I’ve never really had a complaint about them till today. I paid my outstanding balance yesterday. But I was still in the cut off list. I called the office and the lady told me to get it down to zero as soon as possible. 47 dollars. She even transferred me to the computerized phone line to make the payment because for whatever reason they can’t do it over the phone. It was not working. It would not accept the payment. Not once or twice but 3 times. So I went on line. 3 times again. No luck. Would not accept the payment. My daughter had to rush down the road to make the payment. In the meantime they came and locked it out. At the same moment that my daughter was making the payment. Now I owe the 50 dollar reconnection fee that the lady said she could take off if I could hurry up and get it paid. This was all within 30 to 45 minutes. The reconnect fee is more than the actual bill was. They know unless you have a well which I do not they are free to do as they please. Then the lady on the phone had the audacity to tell me that her telling me waiving the fee wasn’t guaranteed. It’s a shame when the people you have to depend on don’t care one bit for basically lying through their teeth to you.

Good luck on getting your bill regularly. They can't mail them consistently so I switched to having my bills emailed - they can't do that either. They failed to send me February & April of this year already. The late fees charged because of bills that were never sent is the same as stealing. How many other customers is this utility stealing from?

This is the I don't know what number of times that they have not sent a bill and randomly cut off my water. When I called the lady was rude as she possibly could be without getting fired. I asked to speak to her manager and she left me on hold. This has happened on multiple occasions for all of three years and turned around and blames the post office.... I dont see how that is possible when I get a bill weeks after it's due.

I’ve been trying for 20 minutes to reach somebody at the phone number posted there’s not a single person they are answering the phone! It’s 11 o’clock in the morning on a Thursday! All voicemail boxes are full and the billing line just disconnects you!

I haven't received a water bill for two months. I called Floyd County to get my March bill and went to their website yesterday to get my bill. I was receiving my bills via email. Update: I started automatic debit in June and my bill is paid automatically each month AND I receive email notification.

All of the employees are very knowledgeable and very friendly! Everyone I speak to seems to want to resolve any issues I may have in a timely and efficient manner. I noticed a lot of the other reviews mention customers complaining they don’t receive bills? Everyone in Floyd County is due on the 15th of the month... if u don’t get a bill, which is sent as a courtesy, u can simply call and get what is due, or set up auto draft! It’s SUPER easy! Why would u blame the water department because the post office is having issues. The FCWD has NO control over the post office delivery. And the FCWD does NOT disconnect your water if past due one month. You have to be at least 2 months past due for them to even consider disconnecting your service. And they would send call(s) and email(s) warning of possible disconnection. Bottom line, the FCWD has GREAT employees and we are blessed to have them service our water for this area!

If I could give a negative score I would! -10. These are the rudest crooks I've ever encountered for a utility company and the online pay reflects the attitude of this company. Difficult, user unfriendly, no options, crooks! I despise floyd county water dept.
