Josh was so incredibly helpful over the phone in getting my order placed and shipped. I ordered my brand new skis (at an incredible price, might I add) on a Thursday and couldn't believe it when they arrived here in Colorado that Saturday. I'll be looking here first the next time I need something. Great shop and terrific staff!!

I bought my first set of downhill skis here. The sales people were knowledgeable and helped me pick the best skis for my current skill level. They even helped me make sure the ski boots I already owned were correctly set up for me. I really appreciated that they worked with me to make sure the bindings were set up the next day so I wouldn’t need to make a second 1.5 hour trip to Dubuque to pick them up later in the week. I will be back to buy skis from them again!

The guys are great!

While on a bicycle trip on the Grand Illinois Trail ~430 miles, our support vehicle, driven by my wife, was rear-ended in a school zone. There were no injuries -- good. The massive Thule rack transferred the impact to the frame through the class III hitch. The offender's car was totaled. There was no major damage to our truck -- Go Thule!. But we did need to find a replacement heavy-duty bike rack on short notice on a holiday weekend -- bad.

Enter Free Flight in Dubuque, IA. They had one in stock and were open for a short window on Memorial weekend, Sunday. They guys assembled it on the spot. They were super helpful and knowledgeable. I was lucky to escape without buying yet another bike!

I strongly recommend their shop if you are anywhere close.

Much thanks,

Craig.

In the summer of 2021, I took my Murray brand bicycle to free flight to have the tires replaced. There was a young woman and an older man in the store and it seemed only the young woman was willing to interact. I asked for new tires on my bicycle and the woman explained to me that they don't just put new tires on a bicycle but that you have to purchase an entire service that costs $150 which includes repairing the brake lines, and generally tuning everything up. I told her I don't really need any of that but if that's what's required to get the tires replaced then so be it. I asked if I could have High tread tires because I was going to be taking it on the Heritage Trail and she brought out extremely low profile tires that look like something that would go on a high-speed motorcycle. I told her no no, I'm looking for high tread, not zero tread. She told me with a straight face that was literally the only tires they had to offer. I told her if that's all they have to offer then fine I will take those tires. She took my bicycle behind the counter and said they would call me when it's done.

A day or two later while I was at work, an older gentleman called me to inform me that my bicycle was severely damaged in a number of ways and he didn't know if he could repair it. I asked him if he could identify what the problems are and he Ambiguously referred to Rusty ball bearings. I told him I had just rode the bicycle beforehand and there was no indication of Rusty bearings EG no grinding sounds etcetera. This made him audibly frustrated and he began telling me that it could probably cost upwards of $250 additional to the original $150 to repair everything. Now, I've been around the block, I'm not a spring chicken, and you can see from the photo that everything is fine except I need new tires. I told him in a polite tone, that I felt he was taking me for a ride, but if they genuinely fix up my bicycle, I will pay the price because the bicycle is for someone else, much younger to ride around. So I'll pay the amount, just put it in perfect condition. The man on the phone became angry and told me that my "department store bicycle" is unrepairable and told me to come back and get it. I assumed he was trying to personally offend me? In any case, the next day I went in and the place was way overstaffed with extremely youthful male employees. I asked the guy behind the counter if they couldn't just put tires on my bicycle! I would give them another chance. The kid behind the counter acted confused and told me that they can easily put tires on a bicycle and then asked for my phone number. When he typed it into the computer his eyes became wide and he told me he's sorry but he can't help me. They gave my bicycle back. I took it to the other shop up the highway and asked them to identify any problems on the bicycle. They acted confused and told me that there is absolutely no problems on the bicycle, and then easily put tires with high tread mind you on the bike.

I tried several times to reach out to higher management and even the owner over the years and as you can see from the response they flippantly just don't care which blows my mind. I've been purchasing from and interacting with these people since they were Bonsai at Asbury square. I just don't understand why they would want to provoke and push away a long time customer who has spent an awful lot of money with them. I also don't understand why they wouldn't want to identify and pursue somebody who was very poorly trying to scam a customer out of a very large amount of money. Being nice costs nothing. Being rude to your customers could cost your business.
