We paid $40 for tandem kayak for 2 hours. No reservation but its recommended you have one. Great place and definitively worth every penny. Guys working there are chilled and helpful. You get to kayak for 1h10min up the river and then around 45min going back. The current will push you a little bit so the return trip is much less tiring. They use a public boat ramp across the street by the US20 bridge. Theres a guy helping you out.

My wife and I spent our anniversary weekend in Galena and rented 2 single kayaks for the Buckhill to Galena trip. Trip took just around 2 hours. Owners(and their dogs) were super friendly. Also very knowledgeable about the river and the trip. Very easy reservation and process. We are already deciding when to make a day trip to go back and do a longer trip with them. Definitely recommend if spending some time in or near galena.

Great experience, family business and it shows! My wife and I booked the electric bike and winery tour and couldn't have had more fun. Sean and his brother were great, made sure everything was in order and that we knew how the bikes operated. It was clear to me that they cared about their business and our satisfaction was number one. Couldn't recommend these guys enough!! Next time we are in Galena we will go through them again for a great time! Don't be afraid of the bad reviews from years ago, these guys bought the business in 2019. Thanks again!

Staff members were friendly and informative. Husband’s kayak was fine. My kayak was definitely old and in poor condition. Plastic fasteners holding leg pads in place were broken and sharp leaving me with multiple cuts and scrapes on my hands at end of 2 hours. Pads were hanging and disintegrating. Paddle was full of water making it heavy to use. Life jackets were old and faded. Owner had said on phone that new kayaks were all rented to Boy Scout camp so apparently this was all that was left. Would rent from them again but would check out condition of kayak first. Kayak trip itself was enjoyable with beautiful scenery.

We reserved two tandem and one single kayak online for our family of five. Co-owner Chris set us up with life vests and paddles for our 2 hour "paddle on your own" adventure on the Galena River. Staff at the store front and launch site were friendly and helpful. The equipment was in good shape and the river was a nice getaway from city life. The company is under new management so give it a try. We would return!

My husband and I rented Kayaks from Fever River Outfitters for the 2-3 hour self-guided trip. We found the staff to be friendly both when checking in and checking out. When we arrived at our launch point the van driver told us to pick a kayak and he helped us launch. When it was my husbands turn to launch the van driver made the comment, "Oh, you have the one with the broken seat, " and launched my husband in the kayak fully aware the seat was broken. I had a wonderful trip down the river my husband however was uncomfortable due to the imbalance the seat was causing and the fact that he was basically in a reclined position trying to paddle the kayak. Needless to say by the end of the 2+ hour trip he was grouchy and had back pain. We mentioned the broken seat to the girl who helped us dock and the office gal when returning our equipment. We were offered "Sorry about that" but that was it. They need better customer service in cases such as this. A partial refund or discount on a future rental should have been offered in my opinion. It is a fun trip if the equipment is in good repair. If you choose Fever River Outfitters be sure to check your equipment over and ask questions if you have any doubts.

Great Kayaking Trips! My wife and I have done two kayaking trips through Fever River Outfitter. We did the upper Fever River and Lower Fever River. I found both very enjoyable and easy, any beginner should be able to handle it. I think I enjoyed the upper part of the river more but both were excellent. The staff was very friendly and knowledgeable about the area. The shop is also nice my wife and I bought some clothing there. If you book a trip make sure you get there early like they suggest because they do not wait long for people running late as a courtesy to the rest of the group that showed up on time.
