Roughly a mile, this loop offers the magic of Chiricahua. I would recommend doing the loop clockwise. The challenge is enjoying what is in front of your eyes without taking a multitude of photos. It's quite breaktaking and is one of many hidden gems in AZ.

Great hike, camped at Bonita Campground and came up for a sunrise and hike here and Inspiration Point, fantastic rock formations and views.

This is known for being a very scenic loop off the main trail and it does not disappoint. The trail signage for the various named rocks (e.g. Thor's Hammer) is geared toward hiking the loop clockwise but you can certainly go either way.

The only downside to this trail is the signage labeling the rocks. The signs throughout the park are pleasantly unobtrusive yet, in this case, having so many in short proximity does remove a portion of natural awe of the trail.

Added this loop to our Big Loop 10 mile hike. Don't miss it. The experience is close-up and very tactile. The hoodoos and formations will give you a crease in your neck. I always recommend wearing boots when this far out for the rocky sections.

If you visit this miraculous park, I highly recommend the Echo Canyon-Heart of Rocks & Return trail. Another thing: do not try this trail if the temperature is more than (80° F). There is a long steep up (2 Miles) after the Echo Canyon steep down. That really exhausting.

This portion is unbelievable! No description or photographs will do any justice to it. Yes, it's quite a hike even to get to the trailhead, but it's worth the time and the effort. Also, make sure to visit the Inspiration Point!
