Went on the Pelagic Magic Dive with Jack's Dive Locker. This is an otherworldly experience, and I definitely want to do it again. You go out at dusk and aim to be several miles out in in water thousands of feet deep when it is dark. You dive off the boat and hang on a weighted line in the dark about 40 feet down. As you hang there, it is mostly pitch black, but occasionally creatures come flit into view that are rising from the deep to feed. Some are familiar like squid, and others are like aliens from another planet. Look up comb jelly videos to get an idea. It is different than anything you have ever seen diving before. I have attached pictures taken on the dive by the professional photographer, Simone, including a shark that checked us out. The staff were great. Simone gave an excellent orientation prior to the dive on what to expect and Captain Casey was great as well. It took me about half the dive just to figure out what I was looking for, since it is an "in the dark" drift dive, where things pass by you briefly, with long periods of blackness. You should feel comfortable alone, in.the dark, underwater. If you are, this is an experience like visiting an alien planet, this is a great outfit to do it with.

Went on the two-dive scuba trip with one being the manta night dive. In addition, we decided to do the manta specialty certification, which was taught by Keller. He is extremely knowledgeable and passionate about the manta rays and it shows! We learned so much! The night dive was one of the most incredible things we have done and gave us an up close and personal encounter with the amazing manta rays! We were able to see 4 mantas during our dive. The crew was very friendly and personable! Will definitely book with them for future trips!

Scheduled a two tank morning dive and a Manta night dive by the recommendation of a fellow diver. The Jacks crew was amazing from the very first Aloha. Many thanks to Joe, Brad, Toby, Simone, Olivia, Keller, Shelby, Adam.
Everyone was very polite and attentive. The crew asked if they could set up my gear or if I preferred to do it. I’ve been all over the world with many dive operations and that was the first time I’ve been asked. They usually just do it. Pre-dive briefings were through, they had plenty of dive masters on board to have 3-4 divers to 1 dive master. As a dive pro myself, I appreciate how much thought they have put into how they run their dive tours. Very organized and professional.
Services they provide on the boat that should be exploited, hot showers, body soap, conditioner, defog, sandwiches, chips, cookies, fresh fruit, water, dive juice(tea), changing tanks between dives, asking if you would like your ALL of your gear rinsed with fresh water after diving.
As for the diving…..amazing. First dive was Octopus, turtle, giant puffer, eels just to name a few. The Manta night dive is like no other experience. 10-15 Mantas feeding all around you. Having Keller Laros on the Jacks team makes the Manta experience even better. He is one of the foremost experts in Manta Ray Ecology. And after the dive he will share his photos with everyone via air-drop. Sorry if this sounds jumbled but I can’t say enough about the Jack’s team. Absolutely outstanding. Can’t wait to dive with them again. Jeff & Teri you should be proud to have these pros on your staff.

My 11 year old son and I recently got our open water scuba certification through JDL. Let me say a few things here. The crew was so patient with us, our instructors were amazing and even went the extra mile and stayed in the pool with my son 2 days in row. A second instructor was brought out so that I could finish if my son wasn't able to. We completed all of the required training, DI Liv was great about knowing when it was time to take a break so as not to overexert or overwhelm us, she was so good at talking him through it. While instructors El and Toby helped me get through my trials. Couldn't have been a better experience, boat day: golden arches, got to swim through an underwater sea arch loaded with sea life w Toby leading the way.I Haven't uploaded my video yet, but many great memories were made. Thank you so much to everyone at Jack's Diving Locker for helping us to learn more about Diving and making it an amazing experience. I can't wait to get out there again.

Another fantastic 2-tank morning dive with Jack’s Diving Locker! Upon arrival, I discovered my dive computer battery had expired, but JDL’s Harbor Shop is prepared with backup rental gear ready to go. Captain Gary and guides Brad and Justin were exceptionally friendly and accommodating throughout the trip. Can’t wait for the next one!

We learned about the mantas here, as well as the tropical fish native to this region and this island!!!
My husband and and I had a wonderful dive time with Jack’s Diving Locker!

I’m a dive pro on Oahu and come to Kona to fun dive and love diving with Jack’s. I did multiple dives with them on this trip - Anna is my favorite, Keller has a wealth of knowledge and a bottomless cup of dad jokes, Olivia has a super cute SMB with a dolphin on top, Sam was an excellent guide on the manta dive, and Captains Bob, Jim, and Ciara (Sierra?) were super helpful and on point with every drop. Hope to see you all again very soon!
