This trail is very much worth the while. You park at the airfield and walk your way up. If you make it to the covered picnic table, there's about another 45 minutes of steep uphill climbing that takes you into the forest at the top of the mountain. It's well worth it if you're so inclined.

The views are awesome once you get above the treeline. You won't be sorry!

Did some research on this hike through Google maps 👍👍and decided to try this hike early the next morning.

Located next to the Dillingham Airfield in Waialua where the Skydiving businesses are, youre going to want to drive past those and follow the road parallel to the airfield until you come to the control tower. There you will see signs for parking for the trail👍

Started late on this trail, around 10am but it was overcast and cloudy with a slight breeze. Trail is mostly covered by trees for the most part, and in the morning the trail wasnt in full sun either.

Lots of switchbacks on this trail, it reminded me of doing Kuliouou. Not too many hikers like the popular trails which I liked🤙Lots of areas when you go up with views of the ocean and North Shore.

The trail ends basically at the covered Picnic Table at the top but I wanted to go a bit further past it to view the "Indian" water tower. Hiked maybe another 20 minutes up a steep incline which if it was raining wouldnt be good to hike due to just gravel and dirt and found the water tower. At this point the trail is quite open and not covered by the trees so a hat and sunscreen advised.

Overall a good hike to get some steps in, took my time coming down and enjoyed sitting on the rocks taking in the views and fresh air. 5 stars🤙

This was my first trail since my back surgery. It didn’t mess with my back but I do have to say it told me I was out of shape. The views are amazing and talking to some of the regulars there made me feel a bit better.

This great hike. From the parking lot to the picnic area is 1.7 miles and be prepared it’s all uphill on a switchback trail. You have an amazing view of the beach one you get about a mile into the hike. Very cool to watch the glider flights and the skydiving happening at the airport below you. The parking lot is confusing to find since the gate for it doesn’t look like one you should drive through. However once in the parking lot it is very well marked and easy to find the trail head.

A nice moderate hike I spent 4 1/2 hours hiking turned around at the three hour mark. The parking area you have to park in a little airfield parking lot it’s a airport for people that are doing parachute jumping. It is very hot on the side of the island so go early.

You can make this trail as long as you want if you hike only to the picnic table it’ll be about two hours round-trip. Not a hard walk still challenging with GREAT views!!

Public bathrooms and you can hike the backside of the trail that connects to peacock flats. It turns into 10 Mike one way if you connect them. Thismodeeasy hike for experienced hiker. Wouldn't recommend hiking if it rains heavily. Water runs down trail switchback, and spikes won't work. Slippery rock, not mud.

Great hike. Great views of the ocean. Plenty of parking. I wouldn't take a toddler on this hike, but older kids would be fine, at least as far as we went (up to the picnic table). Switchbacks all the way up.

Moderate hike. Lightly traveled. We saw about 10 groups on A Sunday. Park in airport. We went in July and it was dry. In Winter I am sure it is muddy mess and slippery in some parts. Recommend trails shoes for summer and probably hiking boots for winter... Depending on your physical shape 40-60 minutes to the hike to first picnic bench. Our 16 year old boys got there in 40 minutes. My wife and I took better part of 60 minutes. I’d bring at least 32 ounces of chilled water per person. The trail keeps going past the picnic bench. You can look it up on All Trails. Attached some photos for you to get an idea of views. Enjoy!
