Update 01/02/2024
Read their response under. They state my wife was told about the boots.
First, the boots were brought to the store to get new heel tabs; not to get any other repairs as the boots were in good conditions when we dropped them off. Again, even the employee mentioned how good they were. Employee who told them the true in front of us and Mrs. Kim did not like that and kicked her out of the conversation. "Conversation for us, more like an argument from the owners.
Second, if you read their response, clearly you can see how disrespectful these owners are. Not just laughed at my wife in front of me, now they are calling her a liar. I was there with her when the boots were dropped off and picked up. Very disrespectful!!! Period!!! Our point proved!!!

Original Review,
Staff at this place is amazing! But when it comes to the owners, they are so disrespectful.
My wife took an old pair of boots to get new heel tips. Boots were synthetic leather (plastic), but were in great conditions. No peals, no scratches! Even the employee that took the order mentioned how in good condition they were.
My wife asked if they could replace the tips. The employee took the boots to the back of the store to consult and came back saying they could do the job but will take a couple of days.
When we went back to pick up the boots as she got the message they were ready, they were in a paper bag. My wife thinking they were good, did not open the bag until we were in the vehicle ready to leave. We were in shock when we saw them. They looked like if a cat got a hold of them. All scratched and peeled.
So we went back inside to the store to complain about it and the owners started to act defensively. Mentioning the material of the boots weren't leather and that it was a common issue for the synthetic material to peel off. A few times we were trying to explain that the boots weren't in that condition when we dropped them off for repair. But they kept smiling saying that it was normal for those boots to peel off. Over and over. At some point, the owner(male) I don't know his name, he laughed out loud like he was mocking my wife. Trust me, all I wanted was to slap him. But, it would have got me in trouble, and I am pretty sure he wouldn't have learned that what they they were doing was wrong. So I decided to write this review instead so people are aware of.
I understand the boots were old and that at some point they were going to start showing their use. But if they started to peel off when he was working on them, the best thing was to stop and notify us the boots were going bad and that it was not worth to repair them and return the money. But no, they "did the repair", put them in a paper bag and got the money.
For me, they look like they were dragged through the store and crumbled them before they were given back to us. See pictures!
My point is, they could've acknowledged their mistake, apologize and return the money.
No, it is not about the money or the boots, it is about the disrespect from the owners on how they handle the situation and how they laughed at us.

Incredible selection of boots. However, the owner is way too pushy and will not let you browse without being followed. Very bad customer service.

So the other week we actually got a repair on a button on a shoe. The repair was great and took about a week. Nothing wrong with that. But after we pick up the repair, we decided to browse the store because I have been wanting a new pair of boots and a hat. We go to the hat section and there is a sign that says “do not try on hats if you do not intend to buy” which I saw as no threat because I was intending to buy. Then the owner and another worker very quickly came up asking what size I am and that I am not allowed to try them on without a protective bag, no issue i apologized multiple times as I didn’t know or see a sign saying that. They kinda lingered around and the owner instructed the worker to keep an eye on us. I felt kinda weird so I just chatted with the worker about what I was looking for and then moved on because I felt unwanted in that area. I didn’t try on another hat after that. Then as we browse the boots the worker and the owner follow us through out the store. The energy was so off and the way they followed and kept watching us was as if we were stealing. The owner kept instructing her to follow us and watch us. Not sure how we would manage to steal a pair of boots? It got to the point where we were so uncomfortable that we just left. I’d rather just order my boots and hats online instead of dealing with that. You’d think after we have already paid for something there that we wouldn’t be considered as loiterers. The energy in there is so weird and I was so disappointed. Great selection of boots and good repairs but you may be followed and watched every second in that store.

The store is nice & has a lot of inventory, but I don’t like to be followed around while I’m looking. The entire time I was there the lady followed me around. I know she was just trying to be helpful, but it did the opposite. Honestly she lost a sale by not giving me the space to look.

This store is useless. Overpriced and not consumer-driven. First, I went in one Saturday to look for boots, and I walked through the door 50 minutes before closing and overheard the staff comment about “551 really?” as the young ladies laughed. So I left a few minutes later. So several days later, after I purchased a pair of boots at Boot Barn (excellent service, by the way), knowing Kim’s is one of the few places with toe and heel guards in town and will put them on for you, I returned. After choosing my guards, Kim said I must leave my boots and return for them tomorrow. It is eight screws, 10-15 minutes tops to put on, as all my boots have them as well. Also, I was wearing the boots, she expected me to go out of the store with my socks. LOL… excellent customer service. It's a zero star, in my opinion, but it is not an option.

Had sole and heel of boots replaced. A bit expensive at $100 but good quality workmanship. Great selection of boots for sale and helpful, friendly salespersons.

I was in here for the first time this afternoon. The employees have a lack of knowledge about the merchandise and are less than helpful. Kim got around to me and started with an assumption to what I was looking for. I don’t recommend this location. There’s far too many other local options for footwear.
