We used Maui camping Company for our 2 week camping trip in Maui. Matthew was very quick to reply and had everything ready for us on arrival. Had a great experience with Maui Camping company. I wanted to hike to Haleakalā Sliding sands trail, Halemau'u trailhead to Paliku camp. I was able to check this amazing hike off the bucket list without hauling all my camping gear to Maui. All the gear was of good quality, clean and ready when needed. Anyone with hiking and backcountry experience will recognize the value of quality gear. Mathew was always quick to answer when I had questions in planning. Easy pick up and drop off. Well done Maui Camping company. I will return and hike some more.

I rented overnight backpacking gear for a hike into Haleakalā Crater. This was my first time doing an overnight backpacking trip into the crater and I didn’t have any of the right gear with me. My friends recommended Maui Camping Company and they had everything I needed. Mathew (owner) was really great to work with and made the process really easy. He even showed me how to use some of the equipment. Everything was top quality gear and in good condition. The whole process was easy and seamless. I would highly recommend using Maui Camping Company.

We rented the "Shameless Glamper" kit for a one week vacation on Maui. We had an amazing experience with the camping gear.
Everything was clean and in a very good shape. We had more than enough gas with the stove and the mattresses were pretty comfortable (but also consumed a lot of space in the car, so be sure to take at least a midsized SUV. We had one and it was almost too small).
The included chairs were also very comfortable.
We didn't have any use for the camping table since usually there are tables provided at the campgrounds, but it made a good impression.
The sleeping bags were good in general when sleeping somewhere at the coastline. However, we spent two nights on Haleakala/Hosmer Grove for which they were too cold, so we had to put on lots (6-7 layers) of clothes,.
Other Campgrounds we slept at were Olowalu, Wailuku (Airbnb), Waianapanapa (Cabin) and Kipahulu.
Communication with Sue & Kaymie was great and pickup at the locker was also working flawlessly.

Perfect camping equipment, it becomes clear that all articles are hand chosen from experienced camping specialists. Like the easy to build up tent, or the great sharp knife, enabling us to prepare meals nearly in the same way as at home 🙂

My wife and I are avid hikers and backpackers. We decided to visit Maui and go backpacking across Haleakala. It was at that point we realized that not only would it be extremely difficult to take all of our gear on a plane, but we would also have to cart it around with us in a small rental car for the majority of three weeks. I found Maui camping company with a web search. It was the only company that I could find that had adequate backpacking gear for rent. The gear was good quality and they had backpacks that were the proper fitted sizes for us. Matthew was also very helpful, he had advice about Haleakala, and I am also not all that tech savvy. You do all paperwork online and then when it comes time for your adventure, they email you a map to a pickup location. When your trip is over, you just return it to the same spot. It was very easy. We had a great time on our backpacking trip, and I highly recommend Maui Camping company.

We have our own backpacking gear, but the thought of lugging our backpacks to Hawaii sounded like a pain. We instead opted to rent back country kits through Maui Camping Company and were so glad that we did! Susan was easy to communicate with and the rental process was extremely straightforward. The gear was ready to pick up the evening before, which was ideal for hitting the trails in Haleakala early in the morning. Everything in the kit was top-of-the-line, well-maintained, and even better than the gear we personally own. The kits have everything you could need for an amazing back country camping experience!
