This ace is always clean, people are friendly and helpful. It’s well stocked. The hours aren’t as great as the Winfield location, which also offers more options. But it’s pretty good and in a great location where you can avoid busy Route 30, Merrillville/Hobart area and the bigger box stores.

One older male employee was very helpful to a female customer but blew my brother and I off when we were asking for help; very disappointing. Another man came to offer his assistance and even though he wasn't able to offer advice, he stayed with us to help in any way he could.

Would really love to leave a good review but it’s hard when we come in to make a large purchase and need to leave to go to the Jiffy Lube next door so our child can use the restroom. We’ll be taking our business elsewhere. It’s a shame.

Extremely Unprofessional Service

Review: I recently visited ACE Hardware and was extremely disappointed with the service provided by an employee named April. As a store owner, I came in with a key that needed duplication and had all the necessary documents to prove my ownership. Despite my polite request, April rudely responded with a condescending attitude, saying, "I cannot duplicate this key even if you are the president of the United States." She then directed me to locksmith companies, suggesting I try them instead.

When I asked her about the difference between their service and locksmith companies, she dismissively replied that she didn't know and doubted they could help me either. I further inquired if she could guide me on how to get a copy of the key, but she repeated her unhelpful answer with the same bad attitude.

Overall, my experience at ACE Hardware was very disappointing due to April's unprofessional and rude behavior. I hope the management takes steps to improve their customer service.

Man, do I hate leaving poor reviews, but today this store earned it. The customer service and willingness to help was met with abruptness and a "NO, we don't do that"

People are in this store vs. a big box store because they want guidance and help.

Well, if you can't do that, then direct me towards what I need to buy and do it myself.

As always, I will improve my review if future experiences are better.
