What a gem in the Bay Area. Best location for sunset and sunrise among the redwoods. Great hiking trails right outside of the inn. Chelsea the inn manager was very helpful giving recommendations to nearby walks and suggesting filling our water bottles. Dinner options were excellent. We had delicious crab cakes, bratwurst with fresh potato chips, creamy mushroom ravioli, and hearty potato ham soup. The banana bread pudding was a pleasant highlight of the dinner. With limited staff things may take a bit longer but the friendly staff and locals made the wait very pleasant. Room was spacious with high ceiling and a sunroof. Spa tub has a window that opens to the outdoor view. Comfortable bed. This is a great place for people looking for a quick getaway from urban environments.

This review is only for the restaurant since I didn’t stay in the hotel - but the restaurant was so lovely! I had my dog with me after a morning of hiking and she was warmly welcomed. We sat on the patio and had a beautiful view. It was a bit chilly outside so they offered blankets! They had a dog menu along with their regular menu, so my dog was spoiled with a chicken breast. The food was yummy and the staff were so friendly and thoughtful.

Hello, I rarely express my opinion on Inns and hotels. However, I feel that I need to express myself here. I will tell you all the positives first. This is what i wanted on top of a mountain view and the sunrise was superb. The view are amazing and the service was good. We received a warm reception. i think we really paid for the view and location. When we arrived, we did have good parking. We had large bags and we would have had to taken them down a couple flights of stairs as the elevator was not working and they gave no time why or when it was to be worked on. We chose to take some items with us only to the room and left the bags in the car. We had a fireplace and started to light it and smoke filled the room. The flu was not left open and was supposed to be open. I had to run up and tell the hostess our problem as we couldn't figure where the Flu was? I was told we had Jacuzzi tub, but I couldn't get it to work. The breakfast upstairs on the belcony was really nice. I feel for the price we paid and the events that occurred we should have been offered a reduction in price. It was total$414 for one night.

Amazing location with easy hiking into Muir Woods from the inn. Great views of the bay during sunrise and sunset. We had a lovely romantic dinner by the fireplace.
