Very well maintained trails, nice little museum. The rangers were very helpful in identifying some unusual flowers I took photos of and even discussed two protected native species at the park and what time of year they bloomed. Here is Indian Pink and Fly Poison. Cool grape arbor and herb garden at the log cabin.

We hike here about once a month. It is more buggy than other places around but sometimes there is no one else around. I give a 3 because even though we have a state park pass we must pay an extra $5 on Friday-Sunday. It's just not that busy.

This state park should change its name to trail blaze marker park. There were literally hundreds of blazes for a 2 mile hike. So many that I could see 3,4 even 5 blazes at the same line of sight. It’s horribly distracting and it’s absolutely ridiculous overkill. The most depressing part of my trip here was getting to Pickett’s Mill Site, and finding not a single marker, layout or outline of where the mill was. They must’ve spent all of their money on Trailblazers for the hiking.

The staff was incredibly friendly and there was ample parking. Again, six dollar fee to hike here is ridiculous. In the state of Georgia should be ashamed of itself. They should be free and they should spend more money on the parks budget so citizens don’t have to pay

Little gem in Paulding County! We visited this State Historic Site for the first time; it was awesome! Even though it is a smaller historic site, it has lots to offer from a museum, old cabin, lots of trails, events throughout the whole year, friendly staff plus reenactments and demonstrations. There is also a nice facility to rent for the day, that entrance is located off Hwy 92. Ranger John was very knowledgeable and friendly. Currently they are only open Thursday, Friday and Saturday from 9-5pm. Gate closes at 5pm. Ranger John did mention that they would be opening seven days a week soon for outdoor use only, meaning the visitor center would not be open those additional days. At that time an honor box system would be used. Currently, you must enter the visitor center to pay admission. The admission fee per person is based on age, see photo with that information. Definitely a nice place to visit. I look forward to making this my “go to” trails!

Pickett’s Mill is a beautiful state park. I love the views and the paths are easy to moderate. The staff are very sweet and professional.

I Really like walking my pup in the Grass in the front entrance. They have alot of nice green grass for dogs. I haven't done the hiking yet. But if you just want to bring your dog for a quick walk this is a Great place.

This site is amazing to take a moderate hike in a quiet shaded forest while learning about history at the same time. We haven't been in the museum but wandered on the trails and it's a very nice place! Don't miss the log cabin, it's not far away from the museum. We have met like 6 people in there. Peaceful and pristine.
