Interesting stop if you enjoy history. The scenery is cool too. We were riding the entire Shenandoah Skyline Drive and then the entire Blue Ridge Parkway. Although this was a pretty nice stop, the Blue Ridge Parkway has a lot more to offer, I thought.

As you are traveling up and down the Blue Ridge Parkway, you do need to stop along the way and see the sites. This quick stop is a very interesting small pond that was once part of a mill. The pond is currently full of sediment from many years of collecting, but you can still see the nice old dam at the location.

Crazy story, so I found a stray dog here and he hopped in my car when I pulled over to the overlook. I ended up taking him back the 13 miles to the nearest town of Flyod, Va. When I pulled into town the dog was ecstatic because he recognized the town. I ended up taking him to the police station and they took him in. That was that.
The actual pond is pretty boring and I wouldn't even recommend pulling over for this one.

Small overlook of pond and creek. Someone saw a nice owl in the trees near the pond day before I was there, but I didn't see it.
