This is the ONLY ski and board shop to visit in Atlanta. I got my ski boots years ago from Peter Glenn, and it turns out they were a full size too big for me! I had issues as the boots expanded but had no idea that the overall size was the problem till the folks at Rocky Mountain pointed it out and put me in a pair that ACTUALLY fit me! Be sure to see Gary - he has been fitting people in boots since 1980. Whats great too is they’ll know the boots came from them (they mark the sole) and will adjust them again anytime, for life. They have a full service shop too for repairs, waxing, edging, etc. Great selection of gear too, and super helpful staff. Even got to watch the UGA game while getting fitted. Definitely a great experience!

Excellent experience and customer service. Gary went above and beyond helping me select the perfect boots. They have tons of options and are very knowledgeable about the gear. After we selected the boot, they heat molded the boot for a custom fit. Very excited to try these out. We also had bindings mounting on both skis and a snowboard. Everyone was so friendly and helpful. The besk Ski shop I've ever been to.

We have purchased many items here. Boots, pants, jackets, boards, etc. Their staff is extremely helpful and knowledgeable, and pricing is very reasonable. They finally helped us find comfortable boots. They did a great job repairing skis for me. I can't say enough good things. It is great to be able to take care of everything close to home and not have to waste time on vacation shopping and getting fitted for rentals that are uncomfortable/don't fit properly. We'll definitely continue making Rocky Mountain my first stop before ski trips.

Went in to buy my first ski boots and have them fit to me. It was a great experience. The people there are very knowledgeable and have a fun atmosphere to to be around for the fitting. 10/10 will recommend. I'm glad I drove 2.5 hours to see these professionals instead of ordering my boots online.

I went shopping for a specific North Face, during Black Friday/Cyber Monday this year, and the North Face jacket I was looking for was out of stock on the North Face website. I saw the jacket at Rocky Mountain Ski and Board, for a decent price at that, and wondered could it be too good to be true. I was on their website and was unsure of paying online and not being able to use PayPal. I waited until the brick and mortar location opened and called in, mainly to verify the website. They answered the phone promptly, were very pleasant and I was connected with the manager, who was extremely professional, who understanding and knowledgeable. He verified the website and acknowledged my inquiry/concern. He instilled confidence in me, to go ahead with the purchase online (as Atlanta is a state away). I am BEYOND HAPPY that I did. I ordered Friday morning after our phone call and my purchase showed up at my doorstep first thing Tuesday morning (it shipped within the day Friday). It got here quick, in protective packaging and is everything I could have asked for!!! I will definitely be an online shopper and recommending to my friends and family. If ever I am in Atlanta, I will have to stop by! Thank you Rocky Mountain Ski and Board!!! Best Christmas gift ever, I cannot wait to give it to them!!!

After coming back from our first snowboarding trip, my girlfriend fell in love with the sport and was excited to buy her own boots for our upcoming trip to Brian Head in Utah. She visited this store after seeing the great reviews in hopes of getting expert advice and a proper fitting, thinking it would be the perfect place to start her snowboarding journey.

However, from the moment she asked for help, the person in charge of fittings told her he wouldn’t fit her so that she could turn around and buy the boots online. This condescending attitude overshadowed the entire visit and made her feel unwelcome right from the start. Having worked in the outdoor gear industry myself, I understand the concern about “show rooming,” but it’s still inappropriate to dismiss a new customer without first understanding their needs or asking any questions and automatically assuming their intent.

Frustrated by this experience, my girlfriend went down the street to Peter Glenn’s, where Derek took his time to fit her properly and share valuable insights about snowboarding. If you’re a beginner who wants a respectful, patient fitting, I highly recommend going there instead. Unfortunately, this type of condescending behavior towards newcomers is not unheard of in outdoor communities, but we believe in supporting local businesses that welcome rather than judge.

When I later called the store manager to provide constructive feedback and avoid writing this review altogether, I mentioned that our ski trip was only two days away. Even if we had intended to buy online (which we didn’t), the boots wouldn’t have arrived in time anyway. Had their staff taken a moment to learn about my girlfriend’s situation, they would’ve realized that. Instead, the manager offered a lukewarm apology and defended the employee, insisting he’s their “best ski/snow sales rep”—an excuse that doesn’t justify his dismissive behavior and condescending attitude.

Most honest, knowledgeable, fair priced, and good people ski store in Atlanta. I get my skis. Tuned up every year by these guys and they’re excellent.
