We were in town for Christmas from Houston, TX on our very first ski trip. The owner and all of the staff were extremely knowledgeable and helpful getting us set up with rental equipment. They even took time to recognize the birthday of two of our children with December birthdays. They definitely left a lasting impression on us. When we come back to visit we we will definitely be going back to SAAMI to get our equipment.

They really made the whole rental experience flawless! I was expecting some cheap/generic equipment to get thrown at me like I was coming to a public hour at an ice skating rink. Instead we got sized and fitted for ideal equipment (I got skis, poles, helmet, goggles, and ski pants) and it was super affordable! Plus it’s only like 12 minutes from Sundance, so it’s easy to return it at the end of the day. I’ll definitely use them again!

I was prepared to buy 2 entire new bundles - skis, boots, bindings, poles, coat, pants, and goggles - but none of the staff seemed concerned enough to inquire about what I was looking for. After being directed to the skis, I was left alone in their skis and bindings area for a good 15 minutes after an associate nodded at me when I came down the stairs. This was a weird experience for me. It may have been bad timing or an off day, but they lost a hefty purchase today. Did I look homeless? Did I smell bad? I'm not inclined to return.

I had the best shopping experience today thanks to the owner Andrew. He got me sized in a new pair of boots and gave me the best experience. He is incredibly knowledgeable and fair and truly wanted to get me in the best boot for my values. You can tell Andrew knows his stuff and carries an awesome curated selection of gear. They also got my new skis set up in only a few hours! I would recommend coming here if you’re an advanced skier looking to with with someone that really knows their stuff or if you’re a new skier looking for honest advice and fair prices.

Our family has loved this shop since 2007, trusting the back shop for tunes and mounts, and getting good deals on new ski equipment and clothing. Recently, I had my first personal boot fitting experience; I never thought I’d find boots that could work for me, with some minor modifications. Thank you to everyone that encouraged me not to give up on a proper boot and for the back shop taking care of our family skis and boards since its founding.

Saami's was awesome. I called about getting a remount done and was expecting it to take a couple of day. They did it right then and there. In fact, I mentioned that my heals were worn and wondered if they had a replacement. My boots are 16 years old. He said, he had the same exact boot and size, not that that mattered. He said, wait a minute and began looking under his work bench. A few minutes later he came up with the replacement heals that he'd been holding on to for many many years. They were a perfect fit. He got my Fischers remounted and sent me on my way in under an hour. I'll be back.

I wish I could give this place 100 stars!!! My husband and have never been skiing or snowboarding but our daughter wanted to go so we took her here to get some skis. All the workers were so helpful and kind! Christian fitted my kid for her skis and was SO sweet with her! She’s a little testy sometimes and he really really made the experience so smooth and fun for her. 10/10 recommend.

I had the best experience with Lynn!! My ski boots were just feeling uncomfortably tight and pinched my toes while I skied, so I thought I needed a size up. He explained to me and helped me understand that a whole size up could mean even less comfort, so instead he got me an insert to give me better arch and also shaved off a part of my boot and expanded my boot insert. He made sure it was a perfect fit before I left, and he did it all in under an hour!! I was so impressed and am ready to ski now.
