I've had the best customer service! I had an issue with a purchase and had tried to go thru the mfg warranty, but I ran into problems. I mentioned it to the store manager, and she made calls on my behalf and got my problem resolved and a new replacement of my putchase! Plus, the boot and ski guys know their stuff. I love the skis and boot choices they recommended!

My family comes up to purgatory almost every new years this year was the first year we went to ski barn and never again

- the customer service is abysmal, when you arrive for rentals you fill out a form with all your information and then you pay online while in the store, which they don’t use any of that information they will ask you all the same questions and than not even do actual measurements to get board length. staff is clueless about snowboards.

- after that you wait in a line to speak with someone about boots which the staff that helped my group did not have any idea what they were doing, out of the 4 snowboarders in our group every single one had issues with their rentals
: boots would come undone and loosen all by themselves,
: the binding straps on one completely broke off because it was super cheap, while other binding straps would not stay tight either they would loosen and even completely come un done while going down blues and blue-blacks.
: Lastly the whole binding bracket wasn’t even fastened down tight so after strapping in both feet could still wobble about 5-10 degrees in both directions.

My family and I have gotten rentals basically every year for about 15 years at this point and I’ve never had worse customer service or equipment, heavily recommend not wasting your time here.

My family and I have been loyal Ski Barn patrons for 10+ years. We have rented all of our kids seasonal ski/snowboard rentals and always shop there for our winter (and summer) sports needs. We frequent their South location - the staff is knowledgeable and so kind. Recently, my 11 year old son had his skis picked up (hopefully by accident) at Chapman. I put him in charge of calling the store and asking if they had been turned in. We decided to later stop in to see how much he would owe for the skis so he could start saving up. Though the staff hadn’t (darn!) seen the skis returned, the staff jumped in and went above and beyond what we could have ever expected and offered to get him replacement skis in the interim to ensure his season wasn’t over. We mourned a lot that day before going in about how he couldn’t ski anymore - a season cut short! We were not expecting to leave with skis and just figured this would be a hard lesson learned and his season was over with no skis. My son left so relieved and commented over and over how nice everyone was to him. A huge weight was lifted! It turned a really painful situation into one a little less dismal. We cannot say enough great things about Ski Barn even before this incident - but they really will take care of you no matter what! They have a great inventory, friendly pricing for families trying to make snow sports a reality for their families and really make you feel like you’re one of the fam! Thanks team - keep up the good work. We have a sweet boy that’s sleeping a lot easier knowing he can still ski this season (and ramping up on chores in case he needs to replace “stolen” skis in the event they’re not returned). Thanks again for going above and beyond for our family! We’ll never ever forget it.

The girl at the front counter and the guys fitting the snowboard boots were extremely helpful, friendly, and polite.

The guy fitting the boards was not at all knowledgeable about snowboarding and when we asked questions about sizing the board and generally, his only advice was "don't fall" and "you should ski instead". He said he didn't know anything about snowboarding or weight limits for boards but said that weight doesn't matter (we have a very lightweight snowboarder who is well over 6' tall, hence the questions). The snowboard boots didn't seem to be set at the proper degrees as folks on the slopes gave recommendations for very different positiong to set them to, which then allowed our group to be more successful.

I understand snowboarding has a very steep learning curve, but for questions on this sport, I'd go elsewhere. Skiing questions could be answered.

Overall, the rental process itself here is easy (make sure to complete the online forms as they will notbsize you until you've completed AND paid), and the rates are reasonable.

Excellent service at the North End Ski Barn. They were friendly on the phone, friendly in the store. My new equipment was set up with care and expertise . I rate them as one of the better ski shops I have been to

DO NOT RENT FROM HERE. Unfortunately I rented boots and skis for a nice day at Hesperus. I also purchased new snow pants from the rack at Ski Barn Durango and when I returned back to drop off my rentals I noticed ripping patterns on my pants that were caused by their boots. Both legs had rips where the boot buckles are and have sharp edges that caused the rips. I told the employees and they took down my number. They promised me that the store manager would give me call but they never did. I'm not in colorado anymore but when I return, Ski Barn will be the last place I ever rent or purchase equipment from.

As a local we have always had good experiences here. Sometimes for buying on sale ski gear, sometimes for renting for family that come to visit. I’m sad they aren’t in the local coupon book anymore, but may still come for the seasonal tune and wax… but please bring back the coupon!
