The owner, Gilbert, is very knowledgeable. He was extremely helpful and presented several options while shopping for a new bike for my son. Bikes range from beginners to experienced, even competitive riders. Many accessories and gear is available in stock. I would recommend this shop without hesitation.

The guys went over a vintage pee wee type bike I bought at an auction while I waited and made it roadworthy for me. Even got the crazy horn going! They’re a bit quiet at first but warmed up and were very pleasant. He even enthusiastically validated the purchase price for me so I feel better about what I paid. Nice selection of bikes and good prices too. I will definitely go back.

Gilbert and Kevin were absolutely phenomenal. When I walked in I mentioned I wasn't planning to buy that day but wanted to look at a few bikes. Both went out of their way to show me what I wanted and were extremely generous with their advice and suggestions. They have one of the largest selection of TREK bikes in the area. Professional, friendly, knowledgeable and courteous. That's Somerville Bicycle Shop in a nutshell.

Owner is a nice guy, but he allows his business to be run poorly. Staff is friendly but extremely irresponsible and lack the follow through. Every time I bring my bike there is have problems. The owner tried to make things right after the fact so you give them another chance, then the same employees screw up again and again. They forget to order parts, throw away items that I asked to save, when bike was assembled they didn't place stickers to protect frame from wear, only offer certain accessories and are way over priced. I really want to do business with a local place, but they are forcing me to go elsewhere. I gave them too many chances.

I previously had a review stating that I brought my wheel home after having it respoked and trued and it was not inflated and I spent a fair bit of frustrating time in my parking lot attempting to seat the tubeless bead unsuccessfully. I was very frustrated at the situation. Coming from a motorsports background I personally used to seat a tire if not slightly over-inflated it before returning it to one of my customers (you can always deflate without tools but not inflate). The situation on that has been rectified and I rescind my previous comment. Speaking with the owner has put it in a new light for me.

The one large gripe I still have was that I tried calling during business hours to get a suggestion on what do to, because things happen people forget to inflate the tire, I know I have, and the phone rings and rings and rings and rings. This phone situation has happened previously too at various hours of the day when I call so I just would drive down in hopes they were actually open like the website said they would be. The owner assured me this would be remedied.

The spoke job itself that I brought the bike in for was actually quite good. All the spokes seem good to go and straight. I wish it had not become the situation it was.

Big thanks to Gil (the owner) who turned the whole situation around with a single phone call. I genuinely believe he wants whats best for the business and will make changes to make it right.

Dropped my bike off to have the shiftier repaired. took them a tad bit longer than i expected (dropped on Thursday, returned Tuesday), but maybe they had to order a part, so that wouldn't be their fault.

When i got the bike back, I'm pretty sure they tightened up the breaks and cleaned a few other things, which is service above and beyond what i paid for, so I'm happy them them, and would definitely go back.

Took my bike for a tune up. The price was very reasonable and the turn around time was great. The bike was checked/cleaned up and down. The adjustments made a huge difference on the trails. I greatly recommend this shop.

3 stars is a high rating for this bike shop.
Terrible servise...they don't listen to directions and details that you tell them and then turn it out to be your fault.
for example i wanted my frame inspected...they inspected that my rear derailer was sandpapered? never said to inspect anything else than my frame.
Never going back.
