This is a great place for mountaineering equipment. We were looking to do a snow hike and were able to rent the snow boots from here. The staff was really helpful, rental prices are affordable. Good service and the quality of products was nice! They keep their rental equipment clean which I really appreciate and gave good advice.

This is one of our favorite shops for mountaineering and climbing gear and apparel. And it has one of the best selections around of mountaineering/hiking boots...for men AND women. A lot of stores will have technical footwear choices for men but not the same caliber of offerings for women. Not here. Lots of options for women. I have shopped at Teton Mountaineering for decades and I live NOWHERE near the store. But I do make a point to trip into Jackson when I am in the area, just to be sure to stop at Teton Mountaineering. If you are just getting into hiking/mountaineering or are an experienced climber/hiker, these folks will help you with your gear, footwear, clothing, and information needs. My hiking boots from my last visit at Teton Mountaineering for attention. 🙂

Absolutely terrible service. The employees are rude and the manager is horrible. I bought a pair of shoes that I didn’t use at all because my trip plans changed. When I tried to return them I was told no because of a scuff mark on the shoe that was there when I bought it. I was told by the employee that sold me the shoes that I could return them if they were unworn. I highly discouraged anyone from going here.

Had some time to kill on a Sunday morning before driving back to Salt Lake City, so hopped in to check out this store. Very nice setup. When we went in early September, there were lots of nice running and hiking shoes on sale. Good sampling of all the camping essentials on the second floor too. Staff was nice and kept inquiring if we needed any help.

A guy named Will from the Bay area in California helped my wife & me out. The guy knew his outdoors stuff inside, outside, & side-to-side. Really impressed with the store. We only made a small purchase - $80? But when, in the future, I need to replace anything important in my backpacking & hiking setup, I'd definitely come here first. 🙂

I came to Jackson on a bike ski trip. My first ski tour, my old skis fell apart. The staff helped me get on a used pair of skis and continue on with my adventure.

We asked around town to find the best half day rates for cross country ski rentals and Teton Mountaineering had the best rate of $18/half day. We were disappointed to realize that they charged us the full day rate- we picked up the skis at 1pm and dropped them off the same day before close. The staff were a bit cold and unwelcoming as well. There are other local shops like skinny skiis that are more friendly with basically the same rates.
