One of a kind place. 5 stars because at times it’s more of an art installation than a store and I really enjoyed that and want stores like this to thrive. Many of the vendors understood the assignment and have wonderfully staged booths. Lots of new stuff for gifts (meh, but I know you need to make $)and the usual booths that look like every item came from a thrift store. Huge variety of ephemera if you collage, scrapbook, planners, etc. they have done a stellar job creating an environment that is like nothing I’ve experienced in my antiquing. That said- it’s vintage and youthful. Far more 70’s, 80’s, 90’s leaning. I’m glad I made the drive to visit. However- I didn’t buy much. The pricing in a fair amount of booths I found to be above market pricing. I go to enough stores to have a good sense of what current values are. Hunting for vintage Christmas and found single Shiny Brites for $20 each. So that was really off putting to me and I found many booths to be overpriced. There’s a fine line between pricing vintage so it is profitable but not more than what it costs online. Big props for creating an amazing experience- I loved that. But I’m not sure I would make the drive again because of pricing. I can find most of those things in Chicagoland for less $.

Awesome, awesome, awesome. Both locations are so unique and the variety of items were a kick to look over for the afternoon. We'll worth the trip.

Very unique place, worth a road trip! All sorts of 80s and 90s items. Also, buy a pretzel get a beer…which you can drink while you browse the various booths!

What a fantastic shop! It is a combo of vintage/ artesian market and antique shop. The selection is amazing and there is quite literally something for everyone. Each “room” vibes in its own way. There is a religious booth that has monks chanting and a clothing area that you can slide into that features pinball and other arcade games. I have been back two weekends I. A row and still feel like I haven’t see everything. The prices are super reasonable and the staff is exceptional. Swing on by and check it out-you won’t be disappointed!

Our new little treasure shop! Found this place just last week, and it is filled with so many awesome things. Not to mention, the way each vendor sets up their booth is cute and appealing, and there are many cute pohoto ops, so it makes the experience even more fun. They have a variety of clothes, door knobs, picture frames, vases, toys, cameras... I mean, just a little bit of everything. They are open 7 days a week - yes, even sunday fun day. Closed only on Thanksgiving & Christmas. So stop by, we definitely recommend and follow them on Instagram! @shoptruenorth

I know a queer friendly establishment just by the greeting I receive. I felt at home and safe at True North right when I walked in seeing happy smiling faces greeting me hello. Great stuff. Unique fun stuff. Anwar knew how these six pairs of metal roses earrings never worn were $9.50. I'm a very happy customer. I will be back. I truly cherish this place after just one time visiting.

I am so disappointed. I used to love True North, I have been coming here for years and it was my favorite antique store that I recommended to many people and brought people with me from out of town as I live over an hour away and made the trip out every time.
Over the years, it had become less and less about antiques and more about small business and crafts. Which, at the beginning was refreshing to see unique pieces handmade or vintage or antique items repurposed but this last time I visited was an absolute disappointment. The vendors that make tacky "trendy" items or the homemade BBQ sauces and unique sodas have completely taken over. I am someone who came to this store so many times for the quality and reasonably priced unique antique items that no longer exist there. They recommended me to their new building which I had hopes was a place that they relocated all of their antiques to, but it was a second location of Halloween themed "spooky" and quirky pins and selected items by vendors that fit an aesthetic. When I go to antique stores I like to see the jumbled items and hunt for what appeals to me. That many other people also enjoy about antiquing.
Very sad to see another cool place be taken over by trendy young generation driven sale tactics.
