The front desk receptionist is so rude. He is so unprofessional. If you don’t want to be at work get another job, They do not work nothing out with you. You have to pay a $200 deposit just to open up an account for them to hold for 2 years money hungry is not the word..

Lady on the phone was disgustingly rude and careless... Apparently we only get ONE mistake in the entire lifetime of us living here....and my card was turned off due to fraud and the lady basically tells me it doesn't matter and she cant take away any fees. I was late on ONE payment in the past 9 Years of living here because my card was expired.. horrible city all they care about is taking our money

I have had excellent service amidst many issues with this department. I have had four separate account spanning 15 years and required their assistance multiple times. My previous residence had a pipe burst and due to the location went unnoticed. The man who read my meter came to the door to let me know the meter was spinning too quickly. Thanks to his effort, I was able to shut off the water and complete repairs before additional fees were generated. They were extremely helpful in reducing some of the $800.00 bill and worked with me on paying the balance. Recently, their audit revealed that a previous account had a remaining balance from ten years prior because my ex-husband had not transferred the account into his name, despite being court ordered to do so during our divorce. The amount was substantial but they allowed me to pay out only the past due amount without service interruption and waived the late fee. They provided me with the documentation needed to proceed in filing a small claim. Each time an unforeseen crisis has occurred, they have been knowledgeable and forthright regarding my options and legal responsibilities. I appreciate all they have done and I am grateful for their professionalism and understanding. Thank you to all of you who help service our city.

totally unprofessional over the phone, unaware of their own policies and measure taken by people in the field. He stated that they do not leave red tags on the door when they shut off your water and never have in his 18 years of working for the city. So I guess the previous tags left were a figment of my imagination. Watuaga really should change their city moto to a Place to aviod living as the streets are horrible, the workers are rude and they could care less about their citizens.

I had the worst customer service experience with Watauga utility (water) that I've ever had in life! I called to ask questions about the emailed bill I received and the supervisor constantly interrupted me and then made an unnecessary comment that if I paid my bills on time, I wouldn't have to call and ask questions. Out of 5 years with them this is my first ever late situation. I say situation because I paid my bill but they stated a late fee was added and they can disconnect service over a $15 fee even if you paid your bill. I called a 2nd time and conversation no better. They must not believe in Karma! (Sigh, shrugs) Horrible

Customer service is hit and miss. I went to the service window and the lady there was very rude and I didn't get any help until an IT person walked out from the back and I asked them to help me. They got a supervisor for me and I finally got help but still felt like I was inconveniencing him. Then I call today and the guy that answered was quick and somewhat nice, he was polite but rushed the call like he was overwhelmed.
Billing is terrible I have received my bill anywhere from 1 day to as many as two weeks after the due date. This could be the mail service but it is a problem.

My experience with this company is that they make up policies that don't exist and then when you ask for them in writing their staff always seems to be inconvenienced in some way as if you are bothering them.As if they don't just sit on their rumps and have nothing else to do. They have the rudest supervisor. Not friendly at all. I have never lived in a city with staff as rude as they are. It's quite sad
the anxiety that they cause residents of this city that work hard. If it was possible not to even give this review a single star ,I would because they don't deserve that.

Always have a problem with customer service, you can tell they really hate their jobs and are in a rush to get you off the phone to figure it out yourself. Constantly cutting you off when trying to get the CSR to elaborate more or when trying to explain the situation to them in more detail. Totally unacceptable.
